Job Title: Calibration Technician

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Description

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Calibration Technician to join our team. The Calibration Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of various measuring and testing equipment used in our organization.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a keen eye for precision, and the ability to work with a wide range of instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Calibration and Testing: Perform precise calibration and testing of various measuring and testing instruments, including but not limited to pressure gauges, temperature sensors, electrical meters, and mechanical devices.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in the management of the calibration equipment inventory, including monitoring and reordering of calibration standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the calibration program.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper maintenance and care of calibration equipment, including periodic cleaning, adjustments, and repairs to maintain accuracy and reliability.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of calibration activities, including instrument specifications, calibration procedures, and results
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and address any deviations or out-of-spec conditions during calibration, and take corrective actions to bring equipment back within tolerances.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all calibrations and certifications meet industry standards, regulations, and quality control requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to quality control and assurance efforts by participating in internal audits and inspections to confirm the accuracy and performance of equipment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to schedule calibration activities, coordinate equipment availability, and support the organization's operational needs.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to staff members on equipment operation and calibration procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate Degree or Certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment deviations.
  • Proficiency in using calibration software and documenting calibration results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience as a Calibration Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of various calibration instruments and equipment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to calibration.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
