Excellence & Friends Management Consult Ltd is looking for an experienced, diligent and dependable candidate who gives attention to details and understands the grant management world/cost principles to fill our about to be vacant Company Accountant position.
Based in Abuja, we offer a fast paced, challenging but learning working environment. The role has managerial responsibility for the Finance Officers, and reports to the Executive Director.

WORK HOURS: Full-Time; 40 hours/week

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This person is responsible for providing Financial Management and Accounting services to the organisation. The candidate will assist in maintaining and implementing the organisation’s financial management systems and procedures, including financial controls, timely and accurate recording, and reporting of expenditures.

In addition, key responsibilities include:

Projecting and managing cash flow; developing and monitoring multiple project budgets; implementing the management accounting processes and systems; maintaining proper security and storage of accounting records and data; maintaining inventories of programme assets; managing financial aspects of sub grants; and ensuring that monthly reports for funders are prepared and submitted in an accurate and timely manner. The incumbent shall also cooperate with and support any internal audit or external audit exercise.
 
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE

Education:
A good University Degree in Accounting is required with ACA. A Masters Degree in Business Administration is an advantage. Membership of an internationally recognised accountancy professional body is required.

Prior Work Experience:
A minimum of five years experience in accounting, budgeting and general financial management, and at least three years experience at a managerial capacity is required. Project management experience in a development organization and or auditing experience will be an advantage. Incumbent must have proven experience applying professional accounting principles, theories, practices and terminology. In addition, must be experienced in developing and monitoring the budgetary process from budget formulation to execution. Experience using accounting softwares including QuickBooks is required.

Language Proficiency:
Speaking/Reading English Language (Level IV) is required.

Knowledge:
Good and sound knowledge in use of the accounting package, QuickBooks.

Skills/Abilities
Strong analytical skills for examining data and multiple project components, establishing facts, drawing conclusions and preparing financial reports or solutions tailored to the appropriate audience. Strong interpersonal skills and highly effective communication skills, with excellent presentation skills both oral and written. Good understanding of USG financial regulations and OMB circulars. Highly skilled using Microsoft Office, and in particular, Excel. Outstanding attention to detail and ability to control their own work to ensure error free data processing. Organisational skills, ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines.
