Background:
Laboratory testing is the cornerstone of diagnosing HIV, Tuberculosis, Malaria, and other diseases, with Africa carrying the largest and most overwhelming burden, In order to ensure reliability and accurate testing, laboratories must be properly equipped and laboratory workers must be properly trained. AMLSN seeks to hire the position listed below:

Job Position: Deputy Coordinator

Job Description


  • The Deputy Coordinator will work closely with the AMLSN Project Coordinator, subject matter experts, the AMLSN eLearning Advisory Board, and MLSCN's Department of Education, Registration, and Regulation to ensure that not only high quality eLearning courses for continuing professional development (CPD) credits are developed but also the training of new and future course authors on instructional design and elearning course development is institutionalized.
Responsibilities
Working in close collaboration with the AMLSN eLearning Implementation team, the Deputy Coordinator will:
  • Assume responsibility for representing the project in the absence of the Project Coordinator.
  • Work closely with course authors and subject matter experts to develop eLearning courses in conjunction with Faculty - Chair of the AMLSN eLearning Advisory Board.
  • Lead technical review and quality assurance testing of draft courses
  • Develop training materials and oversee the training of new and future course authors and potential organizational partners in eLearning course development and instructional design principles for eLearning.
  • Provide regular support and feedback to the course authors to ensure that the course content that they are developing is appropriate for online and is accompanied with visuals and other graphics.
  • Work with the Communications Officer to develop or contract out the development of appropriate multimedia materials.
  • Establish a training calendar for new course authors to ensure that their training needs are being addressed.
  • Engage in frequent communication with JHUCCP/K4Health team based in the US.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in training and/or teaching in relevant field using educational methodologies, Experience in adult learning.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of competency based curriculum development and the production of learner centered teaching and learning and assessment materials.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); comfortable working with online tools/technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and tactfully with subject matters experts to achieve a shared goal.
  • Demonstrated capacity to plan, schedule, and organize training programs involving many individuals and entities.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, proactiveness, and creative problem solving.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Job Position: Communications Officer

Job Description


  • The Communications Officer supports the Project Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator by leading the projects promotion and dissemination efforts and serving as the main point of contact for website and graphics contractors.
Responsibilities
Working in close collaboration with the AMLSN eLearning Implementation team, the Deputy Coordinator will:
  • Oversee the development of the new AMLSN eLearning platform and website, in close collaboration with the Project Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator
  • Regularly update the AMLSN website.
  • Develop and implement a communications plan for the project.
  • Develop and maintain a promotion and dissemination tracking system to accompany the communications plan Provide support to AMLSN Chapters Branches and members conducting eLearning promotion and dissemination activities.
  • Manage and maintain daily activity on AMLSN social media accounts (including but not limited to AMLSN eLearning Facebook Group) by posting updates and interacting with members
  • Respond to emails seeking assistance accessing and navigating the courses
  • Explore the ICT landscape to see what new technologies might be worth introducing into the eLearning courses; conduct pilots to develop evidence on impact and cost-effectiveness of these new technologies in increasing the uptake of the eLearning courses by the target audience and reaching their learning needs.
  • Engage in frequent communication with JHUCCP/K4Health team based in the US.
  • Manage and track advertising on project websites and promotional materials such as flyers, folders, bags.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in communications work.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with social media blogging, newsletters, e-bulletins, and other online communications platforms. Experience with traditional outreach, including press contacts, media requests, mailings and meetings/conferences Basic understanding of a content management system (CMS).
  • Familiarity with website analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, WebTrends) and online survey tools (e,g., Survey Monkey) Ability to handle Multiple work deadlines and deliver against demanding timelines.
  • English language fluency, both written and verbal.

  • Experience with using graphic/multimedia tools a plus.
  • Experience in public health or health communication.
  • Experience with electronic commerce including internet advertising.
 Job Position: Administrative Assistant

Job Description


  • The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to The AMLSN eLearning Implementation team - Project Coordinator, Deputy Coordinator, Finance/Admin Manager, and Communication Officer - in a variety of tasks to ensure the success of the eLearning project activities.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and organizing meetings; this includes preparing materials for the meeting taking care of tea breaks and lunch, making sure all the appropriate equipment is available for the meeting, and taking notes.
  • Conduct outreach to potential vendors as requested.
  • Assist with implementing communications activities.
  • Maintain a calendar of key events (meetings, conferences, trainings, etc.)
  • Assist the Finance/Admin Manager in maintaining the equipment audit log and supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Assist with filing and other office workflows.
  • Other activities as necessary and appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 1-2 years related experience.
  • Comfortable using a computer; proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Works well with others; proactive; interested in working on a wide range of tasks.
  • Fluent in English, both-written and oral.
