The Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), a professional Institute focused on the development of Architecture and healthy professional relationships within and outside Nigeria, seeks applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies at its National Secretariat located in Abuja.
Position: Manager- Membership Services
Job Description
The successful candidate will oversee the operations of the Membership Services Department as determined by the membership structure of the Institute, and requirements of the working interface with the various categories of membership.
Eligibility Requirements/Conditions:
i. Shall possess a Master’s Degree in Architecture.
A degree in any of the following shall be of added advantage:
(a) Business Administration and,
(b) Public Administration; with a minimum of five (5) years cognate experience, ii. Evidence of familiarity with Architects activities and computer literacy
iii. Demonstrable initiative, honesty, integrity and excellent communication skills.
Position: Accountant (Income)
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Manager Finance on financial matters pertaining to Receipts and Accruals to the Institute.
Eligibility Requirements/Conditions:
- The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Accounting or Finance, be conversant with general accounting functions, and be computer literate,
- The candidate must also be competent in at least One(1)Accounting Software Package- with at least Two (2) years post NYSC experience
- Evidence of Professional certification with ICAN/ACA/ACCA would be an added advantage
- The candidate should also possess demonstrable initiative, honesty, integrity and excellent communication skills.
Position: Accountant (Expenditure) Job Description The successful candidate will be responsible to the Manager Finance on financial matters pertaining to Expenditure of the Institute.
Eligibility Requirement/Conditions - The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Accounting or Finance, be conversant with general accounting functions, and be computer literate.
- The candidate must also be competent In at least One (1) Accounting Software Package: with at least Two (2) years post NYSC experience.
- Evidence of Professional certification with ICAN/ACA/ACCA would be an added advantage.

Position: Secretary Job Description The Secretary shall carry out general secretarial and front desk duties.
Eligibility Requirements/Conditions - The candidate must possess an OND and HND in Secretarial Studies or equivalent academic qualification.
- Candidate must be competent in the use of Corel Draw, Word, Excel and similar presentation applications.
- The candidate should also possess demonstrable initiative, honesty, integrity and excellent communication skills, particularly in spoken English.
Position: Executive Secretary Job Description The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of the National Secretariat of the Institute as well as implementation of the Institute’s activities and programmes, including decisions of its Executive Council.
Eligibility Requirements/Conditions. - Shall not be less than Thirty-five (35) years of age
- Shall possess a Master’s Degree in Architecture. A degree in any of the following snail be of added advantage:
(a) Business Administration and.
(b) Public Administration; with a minimum of ten (10) years cognate experience, five (5) of which must have been in a Management position in a firm, similar organization or the Public Service.
- Evidence of familiarity with Architects’ activities and computer literacy.
- Ability to lead a small but compact team, demonstrable initiative, honesty, integrity and excellent communication skills.
Position: Manager Finance Job Description The successful candidate will oversee the financial management of the Institute’s operations including the strategic development of a sustainable accounting system at its National Secretariat.
Eligibility Requirements/Conditions: - The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Accounting or Finance, be computer literate and competent in at least Two (2) Accounting Software Packages; with at least five (5) years cognate experience,
- The following shall be an added advantage
(a) Professional certification with ICAN/ACA/ACCA
(b) Previous audit experience; and
(c) Previous experience in Monitoring and Evaluation.
- The candidate should also possess demonstrable initiative, honesty, integrity and excellent communication skills.
Method of Application Candidates well-typed applications should include photocopies of the following:
a) Educational Certificates and NYSC Discharge/Exemption/Exclusion Certificates, where applicable.
b) Professional Certificates where relevant.
c) Certificates of Achievement with respect to the relevant special competencies such as IT or Communication Skills.
d) Birth Certificates or Sworn Declaration of Age.
e) Detailed CVs showing:
- Previous positions held/duration,
- Specific tasks carried out with achievements,
- Preferment/Commendation/Awards received where relevant,
- References.
Note (i) Evidence of computer literacy, demonstrable Initiative, honesty, Integrity and excellent communication skills is applicable to all positions.
(ii) Only Shortlisted Applicants would be invited for the Interview.
