Job Title: Experienced Head of Nursery (Female)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide inspiring and purposeful leadership for the staff and pupils.
  • To ensure that management, finances, organisation and administration of the school supports its vision and aims.
  • To ensure that all those involved in the school are committed to its aims, motivated to achieve them, and involved in meeting long, medium and short term objectives and targets which secure the educational success of the school.
  • Determine, organise, implement and monitor the curriculum and its assessment and ensure that statutory requirements are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning and standards of achievement of all pupils in the school through appropriate methods.
  • Plan, allocate, support and evaluate work undertaken by groups, teams and individuals, ensuring clear delegation of tasks and devolution of responsibilities in a manner consistent with conditions of employment.
  • Ensure that professional duties are fulfilled, as specified in the Terms and Conditions of Service of teachers.
Qualification/ Skills/ Qualities
  • A University degree holder with experience working in same or similar capacity
  • Ability to manage and coordinate children (0-5 years)
  • Love for Children and be able to teach using Phonics
  • Excellent leadership and management skill, must be creative and innovative
  • Must possess excellent communication.
  • Ability to ensure a clean and healthy environment
  • The ability to teach Phonics and train teachers is essential.


Job Title: Class Teachers (Nursery)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure adequate planning and preparation of teaching materials against syllabus and other requirements.
  • Plan work to meet the learning needs of allocated pupils in a consistent and effective way, delivering the agreed curriculum with differentiation and rigour, ensuring that a range of teaching resources and strategies are used and all pupils are sufficiently challenged.
  • Identify learning objectives and criteria for success.
  • Use appropriate teaching and classroom management strategies to motivate pupils and enable each to progress.
  • Follow school Health and Safety policies and ensure a safe teaching and learning environment.
  • Ensure effective management and maintenance of classroom resources
  • Maintain an attractive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Ensure that pupils behave, are disciplined according to policy and are dressed in an acceptable way, whilst safeguarding their health and safety both when they are authorised to be on the premises and when they are engaged in school activities elsewhere.
  • Ensure the physical, academic and social well-being of pupils in their charge
  • Wherever possible, encourage pupils as per the school’s Rewards policy
  • Ensure adequate communication and consultation with pupils and parents on a regular basis.
