Job Title: Senior Wells Contract Engineer (Contract)

Job Description

• To manage the company's drilling and completion Equipment/Materials Contracts to improve operational efficiency
• Manage the contracting process in conjunction with the CP department
• To manage the Health, Safely, Environmental, HSE issues related to contracting of goods and materials.

• Demonstrate a high commitment to HSE
• Liaise with C&P department in the contracting processes for all drilling and completions equipment and materials to avoid delays in operations due to contract unavailability.
• Prepare the ITTs for all wells contracts in liaison with the C&P department
• Prepare the scope of Work for all wells contract in liaison with Assistant Manager, Drilling Operations.
• Carry out benchmaking exercises for contract negotiation and pricing
• Ensure that all well contract go through the company contracting process and prepare justification for any exceptions.
• Manage the interface with C&P wells teams.
• Prepare monthly contract Budget/Spend analysis.

• A graduate Degree/HND in Engineering or Physical Science, with a minimum of 15 years oil and gas drilling and completion experience, 5 of which must be in the rig site as a Supervisor and 2 years as Contracts Engineer. Possession of professional Drilling certificates (e.g. Shell R1 & R2. IWCF or equivalent) is an advantage. Experience in subsurface engineering is also an advantage.

• To carry out the technical design and put together a programme to intervene in a wells assigned to him in line with set objectives and company approved operational practices and procedures.

• Demonstrate a high commitment to HSE thereby actively promoting and contributing to Goal Zero, 12 life Saving rules, DROPS and use of safety Tools (STOP TRIC, PTW).
• Ensure that wellhand maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with the company HSEMS and HSE policies and standards.
• Maintain well integrity for the asset by planning, designing and executing routine well integrity maintenance in line with current approved company standard and procedures
• Ensures that at all resultant corrective maintenance activities are carried out in line company standards and procedures
• Supervises CWI workshop, including testing, maintenance and storage of Company equipment and materials.
• Monitor the progress of work on his units and relates critical issues to the Senior Well intervention Engineer for resolution and directives.
• Organise the logistics/expedites materials and equipment to the unit.
• Prepares economic analysis for decision making in a problem well.
• Liaises with service contractors to ensure that high quality services are provided in accordance with their respective contracts
• Drive the full Implementation of the rDTL (revitalised Delivering the Limit) process during well intervention activities, thus optimising the operational and technical performance of the units and contractors under his custody.
• Visit services companies and contractors to discuss and source equipment and services related to his job.
• Keeps abreast with new technology and Well Engineering software for well intervention.
• Participates in Improvement Projects
• Collates and prepares data for the review of completed wells
• Promotes inclusion of relevant new technology procedures and equipment in well activities.
• Provides feedback in the R&D trial and improvement loop of new technology
• Comply with the relevant system and procedures for executing CWI activities in the wells organisation e.g. SAP, eWIMS, eWCAT etc.
• Monitor the HSE, operational, commercial and technical performance of the units and contractors under his control, measure the quality of the products an services and formulate routes for improvement.
• Participate in functional activities in the domain of quality management, cost control and Improvement initiatives; co-ordinate the well site application of new technology and Innovative operating methods and provide reliable data for further optimisation.
• Actively participate in and support the practical and theoretical coaching and training of national staff.
• The incumbent will have exposure to a wide range of well intervention activities, which will enhance his professional skills portfolio.

• A professional Engineer in possession of a Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in Well Intervention Engineering with 2 years as a Field Supervisor
• Good supervisory skills, with sound knowledge of well control techniques and well intervention operations practices
• Good analytical, communication and writing skills, with PC fluency and familiarity with well Intervention engineering software.
• Proficient in English language, both in speech and writing.
• Possession of the Shell Round 1, Round 2 an advantage. Valid IWCF certificates.

• To manage and be single point responsible for the technical design and the putting together of a programme to carry out all wireline pumping and wellhand maintenance operations assigned to his team in line with company approved operational practices and procedures.
• To manage all aspects of wireline work and to give real-time advice on operational and other matters effecting the performance of his team.

• To assist the workover supervisor in managing the company's workover operations on the rig site.
• To manage the records of all well engineering equipment and materials in the rig site for cost effective project delivery
• To assist the workover supervisor in managing the Health, Safety, Environmental, Security and Community issues on the rig site

• Demonstrate a high commitment to HSE
• Support the Delivery of wells on budget on schedule and to the quality standards specified in the well proposal
• Liaise with Field Subsurface and operations teams in the delivery of the well project.

• Focal Point for the movement and loading of materials to the rig site
• To implement the Health, Safety, Environmental, HSE guideline in the movement of goods and materials.

• Move and load the OCTG materials to ensure timely/efficient delivery.
• Work with C&P department in the arrangement/storage of all drilling and completion equipment /materials
• Ensure that the supplied wells equipment and materials go through the required Quality Assurance process before loading out to the rig site.
• Deliver wells materials to site on schedule and to the quality standards specified in the well proposal
• Work seamlessly with C&P and technical teams to ensure correct equipment are delivered to site.
• Load out of contractors equipment to ensure timely delivery at site as specified in thee material requisition.
• Support the Equipment coordinator in his community relations duties to ensure minimum disruption in the movement of goods
• Perform the physical count of materials and reconcile with books.

• A Degree in Physical Science or Equivalent
• A minimum of 8 years experience in drilling, completion and or well intervention engineering department

• Implement change control procedures to ensure that changes to procedures either planned or unplanned have the necessary level of technical authority approval
• Manage the personnel logistics and expedite materials and equipment to and from the rig.
• Promptly process the contractor involve for jobs rendered
• Manage the interfaces between CWI, well construction, production operations and development teams
• Manage the service contractors to ensure that high quality services are provided in accordance with their respective contracts

• A professional Engineer in possession of a Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years experience in Drilling and Completion of wells with minimum of 2 years as a drilling supervisor on a rig.
• Good supervisor skills, with sound knowledge of well control techniques and drilling operations practices
• Good analytical, communication and writing skills, with PC fluency and familiarity with drilling engineering software. Conversant with relevant software (well plan for windows, Compass especially)
• Proficient in English language, both in speech and in writing.
• In possession of Shell RI and R2 certificate or a valid IWCF certificates or equivalent.
