Job Title: Preschool Teacher

Job Descriptions

  • Plans/submits/implements standards-based lessons to Director on a weekly basis.
  • Communicates supplies and resources needed to director.
  • Enrols and participates in classes and seminars beneficial to teaching.
  • Keeps teaching license current and stays up-to-date with mandated requirements (CPR, Mandatory Reporting, First Aid, etc.)
  • Schedules and leads parent teacher conferences two times per year.
  • Assesses students on a regular basis and completes report card thrice/year for each child. Keeps the learning environment clean.
  • Collaborates with assistant
  • Greets children and assists with hand washing when children arrive.
  • Communicates with parent(s)/guardian(s) via a blog spot, Facebook, email or newsletter each week.
  • Performs other teaching duties as required.
Requirements
  • B.Ed in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, parent(s)/ guardian(s), and community.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills needed to maintain a classroom.
  • Ability to access a situation and act quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability/willingness to mentor assistants.

Job Title: Preschool Assistant

Job Descriptions

  • Love, honour, and respect each student.
  • Communicate daily with preschoolers and their parent(s)/guardian(s).
  • Help set up Learning Centers for each day.
  • Lead game or activity at the end of the day.
  • Make sure parent(s)/guardian(s) sign-out children at the end of the day.
  • Write and distribute notes of encouragement to students.
  • Record assessment for students.
  • Communicate supplies and resources needed to director.
  • Keep credentials current and stays up-to-date with mandated requirements (CPR, Mandatory Reporting, First Aid, etc.)
  • Serve snacks and clean up any spills.
  • Greet children and assist with hand washing when children arrive
  • Perform other assisting duties as required.
Requirements
  • NCE in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Ability to collaborate and maintain positive working relationships with students, parent(s)/guardian(s), classroom aid, and community.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Title: Head Teacher (Primary)

  • Manage day-to-day activities at the pre and primary school.
  • Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
  • Develop academic programs.
  • Monitor students and teachers for progress.
  • Train, encourage, and mentor teachers and other staff.
  • Manage career counselling.
  • Administer record keeping.
  • Supervise teachers, counsellors, librarians, and other support staff.
  • Maintain rapport with parents.
  • Handle tours and marketing.
  • Prepare budgets and annual reports.
  • Work actively with teachers to maintain high curriculum standards.
  • Formulate mission statements.
  • Establish performance goals and objectives.
  • Explain or answer procedural questions.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate teachers.
  • Visit classrooms and observe teaching methods.
  • Examine learning materials.
  • Review instructional objectives and adjust accordingly.
  • Meet with other administrators, parents, and community organizations.
Requirements
  • Must Possess a minimum of Bachelors of Education.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in primary education matured female preferred
