Job Title: Material Controller
Location:
Lagos
Reporting to: Snr. Construction Manager
Purpose/Role

  • Management and co-ordination of all OFON 2 Project Material control requirements
Key Aims and Objectives
  • Material Status reconsolidations for all disciplines and identify gaps.
  • To address gaps and implement effective materials controls systems and process in materials flow and equipment packages on OFON 2 Project
  • Ensure the safe passage and timely delivery of requested materials to work site areas
  • Conducts lessons learnt on materials control on the project
Prime Responsibilities and Duties
  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and timely manner.
  • To ensure prompt availability and effective allocation of materials to Fabrication and Erection work sites.
  • Set up inventory systems to identify and reconcile all materials procured.
  • Coordinates with QA/QC to ensure effective finalisation of Material Receiving Report
  • Liaise with Engineering /Project management teams to identify shortages /omitted materials particularly piping and E/I materials Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials in order to meet production schedules.
  • To enhance existing UID traceability and inspection procedure
  • Organizes and maintains warehouse and inventory yard areas for efficient material storage and handling, including labelling, stocking and organizing stock items on shelving.
  • Maintain files, such as packing lists, MRR, bills of lading.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of materials control systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  • Ensure that all relevant HSE policies, procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance is guaranteed.
Other Duties:
  • Development and mentoring of local content Materials personnel
  • Attend to any other reasonable request or work task as allocated by the Line Manager or other Senior Management
  • Initiate improvement strategy on materials control and storage
Reports:
  • Prepare daily and weekly materials tracking status reports
  • Issue weekly stock list.
Key Internal Interfaces:
  • Materials , Procurement , Engineering, QA& QC
Key External Interfaces:
  • Logistics, HSE and Suppliers
Requirements
The Person:
  • + 15 Years of experience in materials controls, ware house and logistics management
  • Industry knowledge is preferred
  • High level of Integrity
  • Attention to detail
  • Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
  • Good analytical thinking skills and using logic to address work-related issues/problems

Job Title: Inspector - Coating (NACE 3)
Location:
Lagos
Reporting to: Lead Inspector - Coating
Purpose/Role

  • All inspection activities on all projects and completion of all related documentation, reports etc.
  • Assisting the LEAD INSPECTOR-COATING in the compilation of ITP’s and Painting procedures for all projects.
  • Raising of Technical Queries for any required project specification challenges.
  • The above statement includes the paint shops as well as the construction sites.
  • Training of Nigerian QC Technicians in the correct use of Inspection Equipment, Storage and Maintenance.
  • On the job training of all department painting staff regarding the practical application of their trade in terms of technical correctness.

  • To be a dedicated and Flexible Team Player as part of a progressive unit.
  • Ensure ND QMS and project Quality objectives are achieved.
  • To share your knowledge with the Coating Department staff compliment, by carrying out training as part of the Department’s continuous improvement plan in its quest to become a world class applicator.
Prime Responsibilities and Duties
  • To take full responsibility for all Coating Inspection activities on your allocated project(s).
Other Duties:
  • Any other duties as from time to time deemed necessary, which are not necessarily part of your usual job description.
Reports:
  • To assist in the completion of comprehensive weekly QA/QC progress and associated documentation with input information gathered from daily activities.
Key Internal Interfaces:
  • ND QA/QC Department.
  • ND Project QA/QC Managers.
  • ND Coating Department personnel..
Job Requirements
Person:
  • Well versed in your disciplines, honest and hardworking with the ability to motivate subordinates in their daily duties, as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Punctuality is non-negotiable. A serious team player with a personality that can fit in and get along with peers of different cultures and from many different spheres of life.
  • Dedicated to on site, on the job supervision of Quality Control in addition to inspection requirements, not an office sitter.
  • 5 Years experience working on projects of a similar nature as a NACE Level 3 inspector.




Job Title: Banksman
Location:
Lagos
Reporting to: Department Supervisor
Purpose/Role

  • To assist driver in pick up, and deliver materials, equipment and other supplies as directed by the material controllers or truck requestors to customer (s) / client(s) / project(s), fabrication / construction teams at various sites and lay-down areas in an efficient manner that will optimize effective utilization of the truck.
Key Aims and Objectives
  • To ensure that the truck assign to him is always in safe working condition
  • To demonstrate high level of maintenance and safety culture; clean the truck daily and avoid dents / damages to the truck.
  • To maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work with other HGV- drivers.
  • To report daily incident to the Supervisor/ Safety Officer attached to Logistics team.
Prime Responsibilities and Duties
  • Deliver materials to sites, lay-down areas and pick up materials from specified locations
  • Develop and maintain an efficient routing system within the Snake Island / yard/ lay-down area.
  • Ensure that the drivers’ assignment cards are signed at various pick-ups and delivery points by the material controllers / receivers.
  • Communicate safe handling procedures to material controllers in relation to truck on site.
  • Shall submit trip report / task assignment card to supervisor daily
  • Shall fill out trip report accurately
  • Shall inform his supervisor of any discrepancies in the reports as soon as he’s aware of them.
  • Follow instruction and task / duty assignment
  • Attend Tool Box Talk/ Safety meeting at 8am daily.
  • Develop and maintain an organized and efficient loading and unloading system
  • Unload merchandise according to customers' requests
  • Verify all items listed on the work orders (WO) / material requisition voucher (MRV) loaded on the truck and delivered
Other Duties:
  • Any duties as deemed reasonable within the associated envelope of the individual’s technical capability.
Key Internal Interfaces:
  • Project Materials Controllers, Warehouse, Fabrication, R & L, Construction, Project, Shipyard, W & F and other teams / departments requesting for the use of the truck(s).
Job Requirements
The Person:
  • Must be strong , agile, fit to face day and night operations’ challenges
  • Must be safety conscious, careful in driving and intelligent
  • Fluent in communication with English, verbally/Orally and writing
  • Ability to work and liaise with different teams.
  • Be safety conscious
  • Must be able to work extra-hours / weekends when requested by the project/fabrication team/client(s).
  • Good Communication skills
  • Able to give accurate both writing and verbal report(s)
  • Must pass internal HGV- Driving Test(s).
  • Must have Driver License of HGV class.
  • Should have Trade Test level 1
  • Proven HGV driving experience / skills
  • Must be Proactive, decisive, able to give succinct and sufficient report
  • Must be able to write incident report for investigation.
  • Must be free from taking alcoholic drink, and avoid smoking while on duty/ driving.
  • Must have sufficient proven experience in driving HGV, truck-trailer of minimum of 35tons/ 40ft length trailer.
  • Ability to check details and take responsibility for supervision.
  • Be strong, bold and confident but polite in dealings with other teams.
