Job Title: INGO Forum Engagement and Information Focal Point
Position Overview:
The INGO Forum Engagement and Information Focal Point will have
extensive experience in the humanitarian and/or development sectors in
Nigeria with a strong familiarity with the political terrain.
Specific Objectives:
- In support to the INGO Forum and its 14 current member
organizations, s/he will serve as an information focal point linking
Abuja coordination with up-to-date realities in the NE through proactive
engagement with identified personnel and through employment of
simplified streamlined information collection and sharing techniques.
- In collaboration with field managers of member organizations based
in the NE (starting with Borno for first half of 2016), s/he will help
facilitate action-oriented coordination discussions and identify
opportunities for improvement, both within INGOs and on behalf of other
partners/stakeholders.
- As a main link between the INGO community and the Nigerian NGO
community, s/he will actively engage with local NGOs to identify
opportunities for collaboration and to build high-yielding partnership.

Qualifications:
- Advanced university degree in law, political science, international
relations, journalism, social sciences, international development or
related technical field (minimum master degree).
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the international humanitarian/development system and the mandates of the actors involved.
- Proven experience in influencing for policy change and practice.
- Experience facilitating meetings in high-pressure professional setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience in humanitarian setting.
- Experience in an NGO (local or international), in a newspaper or research institution.
- Knowledge of and contacts in Nigerian NGOs.
- Willingness to learn and interest in humanitarian practice.
- Commitment to international humanitarian standards and principles.
- Excellent writing, editing and analytical skills and ability to formulate well-targeted strategic documents.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and often demanding environment and Flexibility in terms of office hours.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience in the International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) and Humanitarian context
- Masters’ degree in law, political science, international relations,
journalism, social sciences, international development or related
technical field.
Job Title: INGO Forum Support Manager
Position Overview:
The INGO Forum Manager will be a motivated learner and a passionate
activist for the improvement of the development/humanitarian situation
in Nigeria and for the role of civil society in this context.
Specific Objectives:
- As a support staff to the INGO Forum in Nigeria, she/he will compile
information/data and produce briefs on humanitarian and development
issues, Members’ programs and other issues as required.
- The Manager will also assist in mobilizing Forum Members, preparing
meetings, taking minutes and organizing trainings and events. This will
be an opportunity for a committed worker to learn about coordination and
the humanitarian sector in general, while developing research,
analytical and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, political science, international
relations, journalism, social sciences, international development or
related technical field.
- Essential Skills and Experience:
