Job Title: Executive Business Analyst

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • The company seeks an Executive Business Analyst who has the ability to think strategically, to support the development of new corporate initiatives, and to evaluate strategic business opportunities.  
  • The Executive Business Analyst will collaborate with the company's business units to drive strategic analysis and decisions and will be responsible for implementing key business development opportunities, including partnerships, acquisitions and divestitures.  
  • The Executive Business Analyst will work closely with Executive Management to develop and monitor the implementation of the company and associated companies’ Corporate Strategy, leveraging on market research, business analysis and financial modelling skills.  
  • The Executive Business Analyst will help develop recommendations for executive management and communicate these through effective oral and written presentations.

Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Business Analysis:

  • Define potential business models in order to realize profitability opportunities and also to avail insightful qualitative analyses.
  • Develop and implement strategic and analytical tools and processes.
  • Draft regular analysis reports for senior management, business leadership and executives, and relevant stakeholders for purposes of further decision making.
  • Utilize customer information from generated data and customer research to understand trends and opportunities.

Market Research:

  • Research and recommend strategy to address competition, changes in market, and improvements in technology and marketing tools.
  • Structure and perform analysis and conduct primary research to uncover insights, identify and validate value creation opportunities for as well as other
  • Leverage on market/customer research, trends, and competitor analysis to drive revenue, increase yield, improve market share, and enhance customer loyalty.

Metrics/ Business Modelling:

  • Adapt metrics to continuously improve value and impact provided to the business.
  • Build analytical models and perform regular financial, competitive, performance, and market analyses for the business in order to comprehensively value business opportunities and ensure well-founded strategies are presented to the relevant leadership.

Corporate Strategy:

  • Provide short and long-term strategic recommendations to the business’s executives that are meant to develop and capitalize business opportunities.
  • Collaborate across the organization with top leadership, aiding in individualized strategy formulation for different projects and initiatives.
  • Develop strategies that inform the business development, financial and operational planning for the business as well as target setting for weekly/quarterly/annual business plans.
  • Evaluate and recommend business portfolio frameworks, strategies, financial concepts, practices, programs, processes, and measures to be applied across the business.
  • Put in place performance measures that will determine the effectiveness of implemented strategies and identify areas for strategic improvement.
  • Work with the business’s executives and stakeholders in order to evaluate overall performance against targets and make necessary adjustments as is necessary.
  • Establish KPIs that the business will measure performances against and determine the effectiveness of the implemented strategies.
  • Identify performance gaps, determine the causes and recommend way forward.
  • Drive awareness and insightful analyses of the market and transaction trends as well as identify risks and opportunities.

Reporting:

  • Oversee preparation of weekly Scorecard, BYD Performance Report.
  • Monitoring the overall performance of contracts in line with set targets with a view to providing report to management
  • Coordination of monthly performance review sessions
  • Perform periodic trend analysis for Unit/departmental performance metrics
  • Monitor and assist in setting annual targets and KPI’s for respective departments/units
  • Design actionable reports to improve performance.
  • Monitor, track and conduct impact analysis for all projects in the business
  • Review Department/units performance against set targets for performance improvement analysis.

Key Performance Indicator
Research & Analysis:

  • Market Analysis, Macro-Economic Analysis, Competitive Analysis, Business Analysis, Statistics, etc.

Reports:

  • Creation of business performance evaluation reports
  • Tracking and reporting of corporate performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Math, Statistics or Finance
  • Project Management Office qualifications
  • Business Analysis

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst or Corporate strategy role.
  • Initiative: Proactively identifies ways to contribute to the company goals and missions; achieves results without needing reminders from others; identifies and takes action to address problems and opportunities.
  • Meticulous - Attention to detail in planning and communication is an asset.
  • Building Collaborative Relationships: The ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support to the business.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills required to effectively and concisely present key findings to management is a must.
  • Exceptional knowledge in presenting quantitative data in Excel.
  • Working knowledge in presenting quantitative and qualitative data in PowerPoint.
  • Flexible adjusting to fluctuating workload with the pressure of aggressive deadlines.
  • knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry and the products and services offered will be advantageous.
  • Research dexterity and resourcefulness.
