Youngstars Foundation is an African youth NGO that is raising young people and building youth organizations to proactively improve leadership, democratic governance and innovations in the continent.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Gender Program Officer
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Role and Responsibilities

Day-to-day coordination of female-centric campaigns and programs.
Take the leadership and oversight role for the implementation of designated gender program activities (training sessions, conferences, missions and stakeholders/donor meetings), including the development of activity budgets;
Establishing the work plan, activities, targets, budget, standards for measuring progress and results and determining the processes, tools and methodologies to be used to ensure an effective and efficient project.
Support in formulation, implementation and evaluation activities from a substantive point of view on issues related to gender, gender mainstreaming and women’s empowerment;
Seek out robust strategies to grow a platform/community of females:
- Drive fundraising, resource mobilization and strategic partnership for the project.
- Develop and prepare proposals, reports, annual work plans and progress reports in line with gender projects.

Qualifications / Skillset Requirements

Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification
1-3 years experience in gender and women advancement issues and project implementation.
Excellent writing skills including story writing and copywriting skills
Research and analytical skills.
Understanding basic social media and digital marketing skills will be an advantage
Have a sense of detail, positive and team spirit.
Out of the box thinker and a doer
Understanding of gender and women development issues.
Excellent verbal and interactive communication skills.
