African Foundries Limited (AFL) was established to support the accelerating growth in Nigeria by making the country self-reliant for steel rebars and eliminating its dependence on imported rebars. AFL is set up to reach a 0.5 million-ton per year capacity for high strength rebars and allied products.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Metallurgist

Location: Ogijo, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Production Manager

Purpose

• Metallurgists are to refine and recycle metals. Metallurgists solve problem such as reducing corrosion, maintaining heat level, and increasing the strength of the products.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Physical activity.
• Materials requirement planning (M.R.P)
• Daily production and breakdown report
• S.M.S materials consumption and delay reports
• M Track S.M.S daily report and monthly presentation
• Perform a variety duty including calculators bills, monthly report etc.
• Microsoft Excel and Word
• Navision
• Provide guidance and leadership to employee for daily activities and assign project or task.
• Participate in performance evaluation of employee performance (does not directly supervise)
• May have Project management responsibility.
• Some contact with other, including client, general public, visitors and African Foundries Limited personnel. Purpose of contact is to provide explanation or interpretation of information. may handle confidential information and some complex matters.
• Forward complain or non-routine inquiries or request to someone else to handle.
• Assesses and diffuses problem situation and require influencing others to reach consensus. Require tact and diplomacy to handle difficult customer situation. Require advance interpersonal and communication skill to establish and maintain internal and external customer relationships. Explore alternatives and creative solution to meeting the needs of the customer.
• Work involves some exposure to moderate risk of accident and require following safety precaution.
• Position requires occasional or frequent moderate physical activity.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational standard: B.Sc Metallurgist
• 3 - 5 years of experience in Steel manufacturing industries as MIS officer
• Female for Gender balance.
