Job Title: Microbiologist

Location: Ogun

Job Summary

  • We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Microbiologist to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of our products by conducting microbiological testing and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform microbiological testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement microbiological testing methods and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all microbiological testing and analysis results.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff on microbiological best practices and hygiene standards.
  • Continuously research and stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements related to microbiology and food safety.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the production environment, including equipment and facilities, to prevent microbial contamination.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Control and Production to address and resolve microbiological issues.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Biology or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a microbiology role, preferably within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in with minimum supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant laboratory software.
  • Strong knowledge of microbiological testing methods, GMP, HACCP, and other relevant food safety standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
