Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective programme implementation and impact assessment within our organisation.
  • Reporting to the Executive Director, the MEL Manager is responsible for developing and implementing robust MEL frameworks, systems, and processes to track programme performance, measure outcomes, and facilitate organizational learning.
  • This role involves collaborating closely with programme staff, partners, and stakeholders to enhance programme effectiveness and drive positive change for youth communities.

What you will be Doing

  • MEL Framework Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement comprehensive MEL frameworks aligned with organizational goals and programme objectives.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data to assess program performance, outcomes, and impact.
  • Learning and Knowledge Management: Facilitate learning processes within the organisation by capturing and disseminating lessons learned, best practices, and innovative approaches to improve program performance and impact.
  • Capacity Building: Provide training, mentoring, and technical assistance to staff and partners on MEL methodologies, tools, and techniques to strengthen their MEL competencies.
    Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present monitoring, evaluation and learning findings, reports, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Monitoring Systems Implementation: Develop and maintain monitoring systems, tools, and databases to track project activities, outputs, and outcomes in real time.
  • Evaluation Design and Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of evaluations, including baseline studies, mid-term reviews, and end-of-project evaluations, to assess programme effectiveness and inform decision-making.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality, reliability, and validity of MEL data and methodologies through regular reviews, audits, and verification exercises.
  • Partnership Development: Collaborate with donors, partners, and other stakeholders to align MEL efforts, share learning, and promote accountability and transparency.

Experience, Knowledge and Technical Skills
Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in International Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multicultural teams and multicultural environments.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Diplomatic with strong interpersonal skills, and a high degree of cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficiency in MEL methodologies, tools, and software.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Desired:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning roles.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including experience with data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Proactive leader with excellent communication and relationship skills; demonstrating also the ability to prioritise and effectively manage competing work streams and deliverables
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.

Salary
N100,000 / Month.
