Medical Physicist Duties & Responsibilities

The role and function of a Medical Physicist includes the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Managing radiotherapy quality assurance programmes
  • Providing advice about radiation protection
  • Training and updating health care, scientific and technical staff
  • Mathematical modelling
  • Laboratory management.
  • Researching, developing and evaluating new analytical techniques
  • Writing reports
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Planning and ensuring safe and accurate treatment of patients
