Civil Society for HIV/Aids in Nigeria (CiSHAN) is the umbrella national network or over 3,000 indigenous non-governmental, non-profit making organizations spread across the 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT that are committed towards intervening in the issues of HIV/AIDS.

CiSHAN coordinates, facilities, advocates and ensures the needs and issues of CSOs working on HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services in Nigeria.

1.) Project Director

Location:
  Abuja

Responsibilities
The Project Director will be responsible for developing and managing CiSHAN as a Network. The Project Director shall participate in representing CiSHAN nationally and internationally to share, learn and participate in efforts towards addressing HIV/AIDS and surrounding issues. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leadership and management positions and must have held similar positions for more than 10 years in other relevant organizations and will have the following attributes amongst others.
Qualification & Skills

  • M.A in Public Health, Social Sciences or equivalent experience
  • Ten years plus senior level experience in HIV/AIDS development program operations
  • In depth knowledge and five years cognate experience of heading and serving as a Project Director or Project Coordinator in managing Global Fund and other international donor agencies projects at a senior management level.
  • Comfortable with a team approach to management and the ability to manage several major activities simultaneously
  • Excellent general management skills particularly in facilitation, team building and coordination
  • Strong supervisory and excellent problem solving skills
  • Prior program coordination experience with background on reporting to donors
  • Excellent time management, organizational and computer software skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • A highly motivated and organized individual, comfortable with working under minimum supervision and as part of a team. An ability to cope with work-related pressure, whilst remaining deadline and focus oriented, and good humoured

2.)  Project Coordinator

Location:
Abuja

Responsibilities
Has the overall responsibility to coordinate implementation of Global Fund Round 9 Project and the work of all the SDAM Managers of the project. Ensure full success of project cycle with strict adherence to its set timing, quality delivery, budget and indicators.

Qualifications

  • M.A in Public Health, Social Sciences or equivalent experience
  • Ten years plus senior level experience in HIV/AIDS development program operations
  • Excellent general management skills particularly in facilitation, team building and coordination
  • Effective communicator with ability to communicate organization’s direction and ability to motivate others with strong, honest leadership
  • Prior program coordination experience with background on reporting to donors
  • Excellent time management, organizational and computers software skills

3.) Finanace Manager

Location:
  Abuja

Responsibilities
Have the overall responsibility to establish and maintain financial and management procedures and system for the Global Fund Project. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements as relating to Financial Law and to ensure adequate resource acquisition for the sustainability of CiSHAN.

Qualification & Skills

  • M.A in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Extensive financial or cost management experience
  • Comfortable with a team approach to management and the ability to manage several major activities simultaneously
  • In depth knowledge and experience of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing required. Packages include: QuickBooks, Microsoft Outlook, Access, and Excel and Word plus university-specific accounting & reporting packages
  • Excellent general management skills particularly in facilitation, team building and coordination
  • Effective communicator with ability to communicate organization’s direction and ability to motivate others with strong, honest leadership
  • 5 years plus senior level experience in development program operations.
  • In depth knowledge and cognate experience in managing Global Fund and other international donor agencies projects at senior management level
  • Experience in the preparation of financial statements, budgets and forecast
  • Firm foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Sub-contract and sub-agreement financial management experience
  • Experience with international, non-profit organizations (larger than $10M), as well as a multi-office, multi-national environment
  • Understanding of the difference between contracts and cooperative agreements and their relevant terms and conditions
  • Experience with the Global Fund will be an added advantage.

4.) OVC Manager

Location:
  Abuja

Responsibilities

Has the overall responsibility for effective planning and successful implementation of CiSHAN’s OVC programs and projects as well as all activities related to Care and Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children including partnership building and coordination services of CiSHAN.

Qualifications
  • First degree in health sciences, public health and health economics
  • Higher qualification in the social or health sciences or a related development sector
  • 15 years’ experience in the design, management, training and delivery of OVC services (social and/or health services) in Nigeria
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Previous experience in managing a Global Fund project, working with OVC will be an added advantage
  • Cross cultural sensitivity and excellent of OVC
  • Experience in report writing, financial reports including planning, managing and budgeting projects
  • Effective communicator with ability to communicate organization’s direction and ability to motivate others with strong, honest leadership

5.) Monitoring & Evaluation Manager

Location:
  ABUJA

Responsibilities

Have the overall responsibility for effective planning and successful implementation of CiSHAN’s M & E programs and projects as well as all activities related to developing, implementing, and overseeing the Program’s entire performance management and reporting system, including preparing and updating the M&E Plan for CiSHAN.

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent, in health, social sciences, or management
  • At least 10 years’ experience in  monitoring and evaluation of large-scale programmes e.g. Global Fund.
  • Extensive experience in working with international cooperating partners and donors, the public and private sectors and non-governmental organizations
  • Have a good grasp of the determinants, challenges and impact of HIV and AIDS in Nigeria and the growing demand for effective response planning, monitoring and evaluation frameworks
  • Experience in the design and implementation of HIV and AIDS programmes
  • Experience in the design and building of at least one monitoring and evaluation system, from inception (or design stages
  • 8 years’ experience in designing and implementing scientific research (research project leader on at least one major research project)
  • Systems building and systems thinking skills as well as high-level advocacy and communication skills
  • Well-developed conceptual thinking skills
  • Evidence of result-driven and results-based management
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel and knowledge of database systems
  • Ability to work in and around team building environment and work under pressure
  • Previous experience in managing a Global Fund Project, working on M & E will be an added advantage.
