Job Title: Automobile Technician / Mechanic

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
  • Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
  • Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
  • Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
  • Repairs and overhauls automobiles, buses, trucks, and. other automotive vehicles: Examines vehicle and discusses with Workshop coordinator nature and extent of damage or malfunction.
  • Plans work procedure, using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
  • Raises vehicle, using hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle.
  • Removes unit, such as engine, transmission, or differential, using wrenches and hoist.
  • Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and thickness gauges.
  • Repairs or replaces parts, such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings, using mechanic’s hand tools.
  • Overhauls or replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, and pumps.
  • Rebuilds parts, such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks, using lathes, shapers, drill presses, and welding equipment.
  • Re-allign and adjusts brakes, aligns front end, repairs or replaces shock absorbers, and solders leaks in radiator.
Qualification
  • Minimum 10 years experience as Mechanic Foreman.
  • Knowledge of light duty vehicle, functionality and problem solving action plan in line with manufacturer recommendations.
  • A Diploma in Mechanical Technology/Engineering or a C&G certificate.

Job Title: Mechanic Specialist

  • To carry out maintenance as planned by asset maintenance engineer on-site, Workshop Manager.
  • Manage mechanics assigned to him and promote Health and Safety Consciousness among them.

  • Defining of task and responsibilities for team assigned to him.
  • Estimation of needed number of resources and their skills in order to meet milestones and targets.

Job Title: A/C Technician

  • Must have wide knowledge and skills in repairing different kinds of Air-Cons and Cooling, heating systems.

  • Must have wide knowledge in backage and Split type for installation of Air-cons and Coolers.
  • Know how to change spare parts.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • He/she should also be capable of working in confined and hot spaces like roofs, crawl ways and attics.
  • They should know the principles of air-conditioning unit repair and maintenance, including controls, MSDS sheets, safety practices and procedures and tools used.
Qualification

  • OND in Electrical Engineering or a Technical College certificate with Trade test certificate.
Job Title: Auto Electrician

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Take readings of equipments, using a laptop or handheld device connected to a motor drive electronic control (found in newer vehicles).
  • Checking and testing of wiring and parts of older vehicles with portable instruments.
  • Investigate faults with diagrams and circuit manufacturers specifications manuals.
  • Repair or replacement of defective parts.
  • Re-testing the system to make sure everything works properly, and safely (this may include road testing the vehicle).
  • Filling repair sheet detailing what has been done.
  • To diagnose and undertake electrical repairs on a wide variety of vehicles and plant.
  • To undertake electrical installation of accessories and ancillary equipment on a wide variety of vehicles and plant.
  • To document the details of any accident incurred whilst driving any vehicle owned, operated by SCNL and submit them to the Foreman Mechanic or Workshop Manager.
  • To identify repairs required through unfair wear and tear and advise the/Foreman Mechanic.

  • Good knowledge of the following: Electronic ignition, alarms, immobilizers and tracking devices, Power windows, mirrors and power seats, tow bar and air conditioning Customize LED or neon lighting kits, parking warning systems and reversing cameras.
Qualification
  • Minimum 10 years experienced as Auto Electrician.
  • OND in Electrical Engineering or a Technical College certificate with Trade test.
Job Title: Workshop Foreman

Job Title: Senior Electrician/Electrical Foreman

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

  • Must have a good experience managing high voltage equipment and plants.
  • Must be able to interpret electrical design diagram.
  • He must be able to train subordinates.
  • Have experience in providing on-site direction and leadership for workers in order to complete jobs within specific guidelines.
  • Knowledge of installation sequences for substation equipment, i.e. HV-LV equipment, cathodic protection systems, electrical control systems (IPCS), UPS systems, switch gears and MCC.
Qualification
  • Minimum 15 years experienced as an Electrician (with at least 5 years spent in Managing plants and high voltage equipment).
  • OND/HND in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be Computer Literate and able to use MS Office application.
