Office Manager Job at Mobilizing for the Development (M4D)


Mobilizing for the Development (M4D) is a new, DFID-supported programme that aims to support local governance for improved service delivery and accountability in the areas of health, education, water and sanitation and livelihoods.
It will also leverage Nigeria’s MDG Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS) to scale up technical and capacity support for local government authorities (LGAs). M4D will work with both policy makers and service providers at state and LGA level as well as local-level civil society and community-based organizations (CSOs and CBOs) and stakeholders. M4D is especially interested in working to support innovative and increased access to services for socially excluded groups, and will cover both demand and supply-side governance reform. M4D is seeking to recruit a competent Office Manager to oversee its operations in the Kano head office and support the sub-offices in Dutse and Kaduna.

Position: Office Manager
Responsibilities:

  • The Office Manager is responsible for organizing and coordinating the main project office and state offices operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • This role will support the Finance and Administration Manager and the GRM International Project Management team in London, by providing comprehensive project administration, including data collection, information and records management, time-sheet management, ensuring timely, efficient and effective communication and providing efficient in-country logistics – arranging meetings and workshops including travel, procurement, security and also developing and maintaining relevant office procedures and systems, inventory, stocks, and effective liaison with the finance, administration and programme teams.

Qualification:
  • The post holder will line manage other administrative support staff and drivers and relationship with service providers.
  • Strong IT skills with proven competence in Microsoft Office applications, evidence of strong analytical skills and an ability to improve efficiency and deliver value for money are required.
  • A self-starter with strong team skills, the successful candidate will also have strong interpersonal skills and excellent spoken and written English and ideally, Hausa.
  • The post holder will require a minimum of a first degree in a relevant discipline and/or experience and at least five years post NYSC experience in a similar position.
  • S/he will be versed in administration and management, have experience of managing staff, and be an accomplished multi-task.
