F. UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
(i) Principal Librarian
A candidate for this post must possess MLS or Ph.D. in Library Science, or Library and
Information Science. The candidate must have at least nine (9) years cognate experience in an
academic or research library. The candidate must be computer literate. Evidence of substantial
contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in reputable journals is
required.
(ii) Senior Law Librarian
A candidate for this post must possess first degree and MLIS or a Ph.D. in Library Science, or
Library and Information Science. The candidate must have at least six (6) years cognate
experience in an academic or research library. The candidate must be computer literate.
Evidence of substantial contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in
reputable journals is required.
(iii) Librarian I
A Candidate for this post must possess MLS and MLIS in Library and Information Science. The
candidate must have at least three (3) years cognate experience in an academic/research, Library.
The candidate must be computer literate and show evidence of reasonable research and scholarly
publications.
(iv) Librarian II
A Candidate for this post must possess MLS or MLIS. The candidate must be computer literate.

G. REQUIREMENTS:
(i) Professor:
A candidate for this post must possess a good first degree and a Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline from a
recognized University with not less than ten (10) years of teaching and research experience in a University or
comparable institution of higher learning. The candidate must be able to initiate and develop courses at both
undergraduate and post graduate levels. Sufficient administrative experience and ability to provide both
academic and administrative leadership is required. A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable
evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in
addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students, including Ph.D. candidates, in areas of
expertise.
(ii) Reader:
A candidate for this post must possess a good first degree and a Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline from a
recognized University with not less than eight (8) years of teaching and research experience in a University or
comparable institution of higher learning. The candidate must be able to initiate and develop courses at both
undergraduate and post graduate levels. Sufficient administrative experience and ability to provide both
academic and administrative leadership is required. Evidence of several scholarly publications in learned
journals is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including Ph.D.
candidates, in areas of expertise.
(iii) Senior Lecturer:
A candidate for this post must possess a good B.A. (Hons.) degree and a doctorate in the relevant discipline
with at least five (5) years of teaching and research experience in a University or comparable institution of
higher learning. Candidate must possess evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals, ability to teach
courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
(iv) Lecturer I:
A candidate for this post must have a good first degree and a doctorate degree in the relevant discipline from a
recognized University with at least four (4) years teaching and research experience in a University or
comparable institution of higher learning. The candidate must also have ability to teach courses at the
undergraduate level. Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals is also required.
(v) Lecturer II:
A candidate for this post must possess a good first degree and Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline from a
recognized University. Evidence of scholarly publications in learned journals will be an added advantage.
(vi) Assistant Lecturer:
A candidate for this post must possess a good first degree and a Master degree in the relevant discipline from a
recognized University. The Master degree is expected to be with a PhD grade. Candidates must also be
willing to commence studies leading to the award of the PhD degree in the relevant discipline as soon as
possible.

SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES:
1. Professor - CONUASS 07 (N2,485,099.00 – N3,209,140.00) per annum
2. Associate Professor - CONUASS 06 (N2,053,124.00 - N2,684,096.00) per annum
3. Senior Lecturer - CONUASS 05 (N1,653,415.00 - N2,348,299.00) per annum
4. Lecturer I - CONUASS 04 (N1,122,751.00 – N1,444,535.00) per annum
5. Lecturer II - CONUASS 03 (N897,501.00 – N1,074,314.00) per annum
6. Assistant Lecturer - CONUASS 02
