This role will contributeto the sound financial management of the Rural Sanitation & Hygiene Promotion in Nigeria (RUSHPIN) project through management of budgets, daily office administration, and support to project staff and partners. The post is based in our office in Makurdi, with some travel to Calabar and Abuja.


Position: Finance & Administration Officer
Location: Markudi, Benue State, Nigeria    
Employment type: Full time, permanent    
Salary offered: N 1,150,000 per annum (more for an outstanding candidate)
Summary

  • This role will contributeto the sound financial management of the Rural Sanitation & Hygiene Promotion in Nigeria (RUSHPIN) project through management of budgets, daily office administration, and support to project staff and partners.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Verify monthly expenditures and bank reconciliations; Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts and float requests;
  • Support project partners to follow appropriate financial systems;
  • Serve as main contact point for financial queries from project partners;
  • Identify capacity gaps and training needs
  • Liaise with auditors and provide requested information
  • Administer the day-to-day smooth running of the Makurdi office;
  • Maintain and improve established finance and admin systems;
  • Liaise with Finance staff in Calabar office
Person Specification Required
  • BSc or BA in relevant field (Accounting/Finance/Business)
  • Excellent attention to detail & time-Management
  • Strong communication & problem Solving skills
  • Minimum of two years experience in a Finance/Accounts department
  • Strong working knowledge of computers and IT (Word, Excel etc.)
  • Experience of training others in financial systems
Desirable
  • Relevant Post-graduate qualification Accounting/Finance/Management)
  • Experience in office management (Admin/HR/Systems/Procurement)
  • Working knowledge of database
  • Management or accounting software
