Schlumberger Aptitude Test Scam

Last week, I received so many broadcasts on my phone about a Schlumberger aptitude test scheduled to hold in Port Harcourt. It was a viral broadcast. How many of you got it too?


I had a problem with that message. I knew it was a hoax. I suspected it to be scam.
Find the broadcast message below:

If you know any graduate of Engineering or Geology/Geosciences in Port Harcourt with a 2'1 and above or 2'2 with Masters, ask them to go to Valley View Hotels, Rumuobiakani Estate, Port Harcourt on Saturday 29/Mar/2014 for a Schlumberger test.

Time is 8am. Scope of test is Mechanical reasoning, Physics, Electricity, Maths, Psychometry and Logical reasoning. To last for 40mins.

Here's my problem with that message.
 The vacancy was not announce on Schlumberger website. I asked an insider in Schlumberger Port Harcourt, he said there would be no such test.
 Secondly, Schlumberger is too big to hold a test in a small hotel (I know Valley View Hotels). Thirdly, why would the test be open to almost everyone? Is Schlumberger running out of Staff?

A friend of mine who insisted on going for the test said they only saw Police men around the hotel(the staff probably heard about the fake news and decided to employ the police to guard the hotel) and no one came to address the crowd that gathered. After waiting for hours, the crowd gradually disappeared.

I guess his whole thing was probably set up by some young men who were looking for a way to extort money from gullible job seekers. Beware.
