Job Description

Food Safety and Hygiene Coordinator- Flowergate Factory:

  • As the FSHC, you are responsible for the establishment, maintenance and improvement of the Food Safety Management Systems to ensure food safety requirements are met consistently.
Other key responsibilities include:
  • Implement pathogen monitoring in the factory.
  • Define zoning and enforce strict adherence to the zoning rules in the plants.
  • Ensures that cleaning procedures are in place, validated and are followed for CIP, COP and manual cleaning operations.
  • Partakes in assessment and evaluation of new lines, equipment and buildings.
  • Manages and organizes the activities of the Food Safety Team
  • Conducts and ensures the training of Food Safety inspections, highlighting gaps and recommending corrective actions to be implemented.
  • Advice on buildings, layout and equipment designs in line with hygienic engineering requirements and proposes modification where needed during projects and maintenance activities.
  • Performs other jobs that may be assigned by the Quality Assurance manager.
Requirements
Qualified candidate's profile:
  • B.Sc degree in any of these disciplines (Minimum of Second Class) in Food Science/Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, biotechnology or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HACCP application.
  • Excellent investigative skill.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and training skills.
  • Analytic and diagnostic ability.
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in manufacturing industry, preferable food or pharmaceutical firm.
