Job Title: Associate, Corporate Commercial Officer
Location: Lagos
Role Descriptions
- Preparation of legal opinions generally
- Conducting Due Diligences
- Providing Regulatory Compliance Assistance to clients
- Drafting and review of Commercial Contracts
- Providing legal/advisory services relating to Probate
- Registration of title to property at the various lands registries as well as charges over moveable and immoveable assets at the Corporate Affairs Commission
- Providing Company Secretarial Services to Clients.
Requirements
- Candidates for this role must be excellent draftsmen with 3-5 years active post-call experience in commercial law and regulatory compliance.
- The candidate must have graduated with at least a 2nd Class Upper from either a reputable University or the Nigerian Law School but preferably from both.
Skills and Competencies:
- Good knowledge of substantive law.
- Good working relationship with relevant government bodies and regulatory agencies; SEC, CAC, NIPC, Trademarks Registry NAFDAC, SON, NIMASA, Land Registries, etc
- Good working knowledge of Corporate Finance
- Excellent drafting skills
- Good knowledge of extant laws and regulations relating to banking, finance, real estate, investments, employment, intellectual property and company law.
- Excellent Communication skills: oral and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Analytical skills
- A good eye for details
- Ability to work under pressure and meet timelines.
- Membership of ICSAN will be an added advantage.
Job Title: Head of Chambers, Senior Associate - Dispute Resolution
Location: Lagos
Role Descriptions
- Providing general support to the Supervising Partner and deputising for him/her in his/her absence
- Managing the case load of the Dispute Resolution Team to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Preparation of legal opinions generally
- Representation in Dispute Resolutions before all the Superior Courts (including the National Industrial Court) as well as in arbitral and administrative proceedings with minimal or no supervision
- Drafting and Review of Agreements
- Undertaking periodic case files review and coordinating team meetings
- Supervising, training and mentoring subordinates
- Appraising the performance/work of members of the team, identifying skills gaps of subordinates and recommending appropriate training to flu identified gaps
- Client management/care
- Identifying potential business development opportunities.
Requirements
- The candidate for this role must he a consummate litigator with a minimum of 10 years active post-call experience in Dispute Resolution/Commercial Litigation and Debt Recovery.
- The candidate must have graduated with at least a 2:2 from a reputable University and the Nigerian Law School
Skills and Competencies:
- Good knowledge of substantive law.
- Ability to identify legal issues in any dispute.
- In-depth knowledge of dispute resolution strategies.
- Ability to initiate and conclude briefs with minimal or no supervision before all superior courts.
- Good working knowledge of commercial law and extant laws and regulations relating to banking, finance, property, investments, employment, matrimonial causes and administration of estates.
- Excellent drafting skills with added emphasis on Pleadings.
- Excellent Communication skills: oral and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Analytical skills.
- A good eye for details.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet timelines.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators will be an added advantage.
