The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Abuja Delegation is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the vacancy below:     Job Title: Buyer I Location: Abuja Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the procurement of all requested goods and services for the ICRC Delegation in Abuja as well as for the support to the ICRC country wide, securing the best correlation of quality, price and delivery time.
  • Receives, plans and prioritizes purchase requests (SP/PO/ODs) from requesting departments and ensures a good (electronic/hard) filing of them.
  • Prepares Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Request for Tender (RFT) and must ensure that they contain all relevant information to enable transparent selection of the best price, terms and conditions.
  • Ensures that all other conditions agreed in the contract have been met in terms of quality and quantity control.
  • Performs necessary paperwork and assures follow up with administration and the requesting departments.
  • Updates and maintains knowledge about main suppliers; checks the market for potential new suppliers together with the requesting department.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree, Associate Degree or equivalent higher education degree in administration, logistics, purchasing or similar field.
  • Additional vocational training in administration, logistics or purchasing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, purchasing, administration or similar position in commercial or humanitarian sector.
  • Advanced conversational and written English and Hausa.
  • PC literate: Microsoft office.

    Job Title: Buyer 1 (Water and Habitat Purchaser) Location: Abuja Main Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the procurement of all requested Wathab (Water & Habitat) goods and Services for the ICRC Delegation in Abuja as well as for the support to the ICRC country wide, securing the best correlation of quality, price and delivery time.
  • Receives, plans and prioritizes orders Supply Request’s (SR) from departments and ensures a good electronic and hard filing of the Supply Requests with Wathab.
  • Decides procurement mode in collaboration with Head of Purchasing Delegate and the requester: Local Procurement Request, Stock Requisition and Requisition Order to other sites, IT or admin stock.
  • Identifies and forwards Petty Cash Requests to Purchasing.
  • Follows up procurement with am counterparts to make sure deadlines are met; Informs requester in case of problems.
  • Liaises with Dispatch and Transport to decide on Transport mode and prioritize dispatch of cargo as well as with Wathab.
  • Liaises with Wathab for the purchasing forecast
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree, Associate Degree or equivalent higher education degree in administration, logistics, purchasing, or similar field. Technical engineering is a strong plus.
  • Additional vocational training in administration, logistics or purchasing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, purchasing, administration or similar position in commercial/Engineering or humanitarian sector.
  • Advanced conversational and written English. Other North East (Hausa, Fulani) dialogue is an asset.
  • PC literate: Microsoft office, Excel, experience with JDE or another ORACLE ERP an added value

    Job Title: Logistician 1 - (Cash Transfer Program) Location: Abuja Main Responsibilities
  • Responsible for cash transfers to beneficiaries as per ICRC Cash Transfer Program (CTP) procedures in Nigeria
  • Conduct field visits to support CTP activities in the field areas. Expected travel time 75%.
  • Under the supervision of LOG CTP Specialist, conduct market assessments and prepare analysis in collaboration with Economic Security (EcoSec) colleagues, assess the feasibility and appropriateness of CTP within the range of other possible options to meet identified needs. This includes a market analysis as well as the analysis of the various criteria required to implement different CTP and a comparison with in-kind options.
  • Assist in maintaining standard CTP documentation ensuring transparency and accountability and ensure it fulfils the internal requirements for clean audit purpose.
  • Support Economic Security team in the post-distribution monitoring and share the key findings with recommendations
  • Able to provide trainings and take capacity building initiatives on distributions
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree, Associate Degree or equivalent higher education Degree in Administration, Logistics, Purchasing or similar field
  • Additional vocational training / education / certification in administration, logistics or purchasing, Humanitarian Cash Transfers (Preferred)

    Job Title: Health Field Officer 2 (Medical Store Manager) Location: Maiduguri, Borno Main Responsibilities
  • Prepares the Monthly inventory in collaboration with the hospital Medical Store Keeper
  • Receives the monthly order from ABUJA and checks the packaging for completeness
  • Ensures that all medical drugs and items are well organized, correctly stored, well protected, fully identified and easily accessible
  • Ensures each department is supplied on its order day in collaboration with the Medical store keeper
  • Keeps records and submits expired drugs and reports near expiry drugs on time
  • Contributes to good stock control and efficient use of hospital equipment
  • Participates in hospital staff morning meetings and gives feedback to the surgical team
  • Gives feedback on specific drugs and medical items position to the surgical team
  • Tracks and keeps record of contingency stock and updates it regularly.
Required Qualifications

    Job Title: Generalist Field Officer 1 Location: Monguno, Borno Main Responsibilities
  • Security assessment, analysis of the variety of factors susceptible to impact on ICRC operations.
  • Develop and regular update of a state-wide security network in LGAs covered by Monguno office.
  • Maintaining, developing and expanding a network of interlocutors relevant for ICRC activities within the AoR.
  • Collaboration with the Nigerian Red Cross Society branch and divisions relevant for Monguno office.
  • Ability to collect and report relevant information in concise and timely manner.
  • Sensitive in communicating with key players of the AoR and with bigger audiences
  • Good public speech skills and proved ability to introduce the ICRC to multi-level stakeholders (beneficiaries, security personnel, politicians, community leaders, religious groups, other humanitarian actors)
  • In collaboration with Communication field officer, conduct dissemination on ICRC activities to audiences and interlocutors and thus contribution to further positioning of the ICRC in the AoR.
  • Support in the Protection - activities of the office, especially in the activities related to protection of civilian population.
Required Qualifications
  • University Degree preferably in Social Sciences (Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, etc.)
  • Background in security services an asset (the candidate should hold a senior officer rank)
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience in positions with public outreach and/or security management
  • Excellent knowledge of the political, security and socio-cultural dynamics of Borno State in general and Monguno and Kukawa LGA in specific.
  • Advanced analytical skills, especially on political, security and social dynamics.
  • Good communication skills with excellent knowledge of written and oral English and advanced reporting skills (writing reports)
  • Advanced computer skills is a must (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Job Title: Protection Field Officer 1 Location: Monguno, Borno Main Responsibilities
  • Implementation of the Protection objectives by applying the set procedures (administrative, operational and technical) under the direct supervision of the delegate.
  • Collection, analysis and monitoring of incidents, including protection concerns, in order to identify trends, with a priority to the humanitarian consequences of the armed conflict in the AoR.
  • Helps maintain regular contact with the beneficiaries with periodical follow-up by phone and visits.
  • Collection, analysis and monitoring of movements of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the AoR.
  • Support the delegates in representing the institution in an appropriate way in meetings, translation and reporting during field trips and in administrative and logistical tasks when requested to do so.
  • Treats information with confidentiality and accuracy, and maintains an adapted and respectful attitude towards beneficiaries, interlocutors and colleagues.
  • Contributes to the reporting of violent incidents and Health Care in Danger (HCiD) incidents tables.
  • Includes HCiD component in the assessment/analysis, monitoring and evaluation of related PROT issues.
Required Qualifications
  • University degree in a relevant field, preferably in the field of law
  • 2 years’ experience in the Protection sector with humanitarian organisation.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, Hausa and Kanuri (Shuaa-Arab an asset)
  • Good computer skills: knowledge in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Represents the organization properly with different level of interlocutors.
  • Sound analytical skills, Good knowledge of the Area of Responsibility - AoR (Political, cultural and geographical)
  • Driving Licence and succeeded in ICRC Driving test.
