  • Under the supervision and guidance of the Head of Resilience, the Programme Assistants (Resilience) are expected to take responsibility for completion of a range of programme support activities requiring interpretation of standard guidelines/practices.
  • Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to more junior colleagues.
Job Purpose
  • To deliver a wide range of programme support processes and activities for a specific professional area of work, to facilitate effective service delivery.

  • Collate information for inclusion in reports, documents and correspondence, to support the effective work of other staff.

  • Experience:  Minimum of 3-5 years experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Knowledge of specialised common programming methods and skills gained through relevant technical training and experience.

  • The Protection Officer will be based in the Sub Office in Damaturu but the position will require travel to WFP field sites in the outskirts of Damaturu within Yobe State
  • The selected candidate will report to the Protection Officer and will be responsible for assisting the Programme Unit to mainstream protection and AAP as well as assist in providing technical guidance to Program Units to undertake conflict sensitive programming.
Job Purpose
  • To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.
Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive) Specific Tasks related to Protection Mainstreaming:
  • Work with the Program Units in coordination with Protection Officer to integrate protection concerns into the project management cycle
  • Undertake research to assist in contributing to WFPs Nigeria context analysis
  • Provide regular information on protection concerns and trends in Nigeria in WFP’s internal meetings
  • Contribute in developing tools and guidelines for specific Program Units to mainstream protection based on WFPs policy

Standard Minimum Qualifications Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, International Affairs, International Law or other fields relevant to international development/ humanitarian assistance. A Master's Degree in the above fields is a requirement.
Language:
  • Fluency (level C) in English language. Excellent English communication and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of local languages of Hausa and/or  Kanuri is an advantage.
Experience:
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience relevant to the position in addressing protection issues in humanitarian responses
  • Experiences working in the field, in both development and emergency response, understanding the operational aspects of local, state and national level of food-security programs in complex conflict environments
  • Experience in delivering trainings and debriefings

  • This job will be based in the following Hub locations/Duty stations: Gwoza,Bama, Dikwa, Ngala, Monguno, Damasak, Banki & Rann. Job holders are based in Radio Rooms and typically report to an Information Technology Officer, Security Officer, or the designate.
  • At this level, job holders work in a team under minimal supervision and are expected to produce organised and accurate reports and technical work. As required, they may work with UNDSS Radio Room, especially in case of security incidents. These jobs may require to work different shifts and report for duty on short notice.
Job Purpose
  • To support telecommunications services in order to facilitate efficient implementation of security processes and procedures.

  • Coordinate with WFP Security staff and/or UNDSS Radio Room, to facilitate accurate and efficient security-related information flow following established standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for monitoring and channelling all radio communications including tracking of WFP vehicle and staff movement, to ensure efficient 24-hour coverage of telecommunications services.

Job Purpose

  • Assist in the identification, development and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working, leading to improved food assistance packages
  • Support the lead Partnership Programme Officer to develop and sustain liaison with key professionals and NGOs engaged in the field of food  and nutrition security;
