Job Description
- KASI Healthcare is looking for a Locum Consultant Otolaryngologist with special interest in Laser Surgery to join our cohesive and enthusiastic team of consultants in diverse area of medicine.
- The contract will be for 3 PA's per week. Six hours (6hrs) for Each PA
Essential job functions include but are not limited to:
- The otolaryngologist is responsible in receiving patients with certain disabilities relating to ear, nose and throat. Ultimately, he will examine patients and performs various physical tests or procedure in order to determine their health problem.
- He will also be responsible in diagnosing diseases or injuries of the ear, nose, throat, pharynx, sinuses, larynx, thyroid, oral cavity, salivary glands and esophagus. Diseases including viral, yeast infections or bacterial infections and also tonsillitis common in children which he will attend to on daily basis.
- He will examine affected organs with the use of equipment such as x-ray machines, fluoroscopes, microscopes, nasoscopes, prisms, and audiometers to determine the nature and severity of the disorder, and prescribe medications or conduct surgery.
- He will also perform tests to find out the severity of hearing or speech loss due to diseases or injuries; perform reconstructive surgery to treat birth defects; remove benign and malignant tumors of the face and neck; install cochlear implants; and treat sleep disorders.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess MBBS, FWACS or its equivalent.
- Candidates most have a Fellowship in Otolaryngology
- Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years post-Fellowship experience
- Candidates must be fully registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

Requirements
- Candidates should possess MBBS, FWACS or its equivalent.
- Candidates most have a Fellowship in Occupational Health and Safety
- This position requires a medical license to practice in Nigeria or equivalent qualifications in a specialty related to environmental health, such as community medicine, occupational medicine, or infectious diseases.
- The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of post-graduate training in fields related to environmental health such as toxicology, epidemiology, risk assessment and control of environmental hazards coupled with practical experience in responding to environmental health issues and the development of policy to mitigate risks from environmental hazards.
- Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of regulatory agencies, policies, legislation, and processes that govern and are otherwise relevant to environmental health in Nigeria is essential.
- Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years post-Fellowship experience

- Diagnoses diseases and disorders utilizing techniques, such as discussion of symptoms and medical history with patient, instrumental inspection of rectum and colon, examination of diagnostic images of affected parts, and evaluation of laboratory test results.
- Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatments and procedures, such as sedatives, diets, antibiotics, and preparation and treatment of the patient's operative area.
- To perform endoscopy of the rectum and colon, treat hemorrhoids, fistulas and fissures, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, polyps, benign tumors and colorectal and anal malignancies with laser technology and other surgical technique.
- The surgeon must be able to perform common bariatric surgery procedures like gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, adjustable gastric band, and biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch and assist with nutrition counseling, hernia repairs, and surgeries relating to cancer.

Essential job functions include but are not limited to:
- Perform interventional procedures such as image-guided biopsy, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, percutaneous laser disc decompression (PLDD), ultrasound guided laser therapy for venous insufficiency, transhepatic biliary drainage, and nephrostomy catheter placement.
- Perform or interpret the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), C-ARM, computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), nuclear cardiology treadmill studies, mammography, or ultrasound.
- Treat malignant internal or external growths by exposure to radiation from radiographs (x-rays), high energy sources, or natural or synthetic radioisotopes and also administer cancer treatments.
- Administer radiopaque substances by injection, orally, or as enemas to render internal structures and organs visible on x-ray films or fluoroscopic screens.
- Develop treatment plans for radiology patients and also serve as an offsite tele-radiologist
Requirements
- Applicants must possess Fellowship in Radiology from a recognized College with a minimum of 3-5 years experience.
- Intervention Radiology experience (CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, 4D Sonography, Mammo, Bone Densitometry) will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with experience in medical imaging, performing various radiology procedures for diagnostics such as, X-ray, MRI, and CT.
