  • Prevent, Detect, and Recover revenue losses
Job Responsibilities
  • Compiles regular plan for revenue protection activities based on the analyses related to illegal consumers, PPM bypasses, tariff reclassification, under billing consumers, Maximum Demand customers and all other customers where losses may be caused.
  • Organizes his work schedule raising efforts to mitigate: energy losses, misconducts and corruption and all other issues which impacts directly or indirectly in the losses.
  • Inspection/Recertification of energy meters, calculate and estimate bills from damaged meters; monitors and investigates energy theft.
  • Carries out periodic taskforce exercise on debt recovery as may be directed by the BHCM/RRPO/HRP.
  • Works closely with local Law Enforcement to prosecute individuals for unauthorized use of our services, intentional damage to IBEDC property and fraud.
  • Identifies areas of high financial leakages within the business hub and proposes appropriate strategies to curtail the leakages.
  • Inspect meters and associated instrument to ascertain that proper connection is done.
  • Daily reporting of activities to the Regional Revenue Protection Officer.
  • Any other task as may be assigned by the Head,Revenue Protection.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and metering.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and accident prevention methods in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in relevant software and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable  laws and regulations.
  • Ability to diffuse potentially dangerous and hostile confrontations during investigations.
  • Ability to correctly read electricity meters.
  • Ability to detect meter bypass
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
  • Ability to maintain security and confidentiality
  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's Degree
  • Required Experience: 3 - 5 years
    Job Title: Regional Revenue Protection Officer Location: Ibadan, Oyo Specialization: Security and Investigation Job Objectives
  • Coordinate the field activities in the prevention, detection and to recover energy losses attributable to billing irregularities, indebtedness to IBEDC and interference with metering installations by fraudulent customers within the Region.
Responsibilities
  • Compiles regular plan for revenue protection activities based on the analyses related to illegal consumers, PPM bypasses, under billing consumers, Maximum Demand customers and all other customers where losses may be caused and supervises the daily activities of IIMOs across the region.
  • Organizes the work schedule of IIMOs raising efforts to mitigate: energy losses, misconducts and corruption and all other issues which impacts directly or indirectly in the losses.
  • Carries out weekly inspection of MD meters and associated equipment for the purpose of ascertaining optimal performance.
  • Identifies areas of high financial leakages within the region and design appropriate strategies to curtail the leakages.
  • Inspect meters and associated instrument to ascertain that proper connection is done.
  • Define targets for each team, monitor quantity and quality of work done by field team, evaluate the performance and initiate measures for rewards or disciplinary measures in monthly bases.
  • Periodic reporting of activities to the Head, Revenue Protection (HRP).
  • Any other task as may be assigned by the HRP.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor Degree
  • Required Experience 7 - 10 years
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and metering.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and accident prevention methods in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in relevant software and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable  laws and regulations.
