Job For Bee Keeping and Apiary Expert at Suspath Limited

Suspath Limited, a new and growing business in Ogun State, is recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:     Job Title: Bee Keeping and Apiary Expert Location: Ogun Job Description

  • You will be responsible for providing expert advise on setting up and building an apiary
  • You will have expert knowledge and understanding of Bee biology and their habitat
  • The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining happy and healthy hives, to help pollinate the plants and produce honey.
Typical duties for a Beekeeper could include:
  • Putting on ‘supers’ (chambers to form honeycomb)
  • Using a ‘smoker’ to calm any agitated bees (N.B. amongst other things, bees do not like loud noises, heavy machinery working nearby and aftershave/perfume)
  • Ensuring the bees are healthy and well-maintained, and inspecting hives for signs of disease
  • ‘Hefting’ (lifting the corners of the hive to see how much honey has been produced)
  • Maintaining the garden and surrounding plants to help bees pollinate them
  • Harvesting honey, royal jelly and beeswax P
Requirement
  • Ideally you will have a relevant Degree but relevant experience may be considered.
