LifeBank is a healthcare technology and logistics company that’s in the business of saving lives. We believe that no African should die from a shortage of essential medical products at the hospital level, and we are on a mission to solve this. LifeBank is currently working on the blood shortage problem in Nigeria by connecting hospitals to blood banks, and blood banks to donors. We do this by hosting blood drives and by delivering blood in less than 55 minutes, in a WHO and EU recommended cold-chain, to hospitals.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Junior Front-End Developer
Location: Nigeria
Reporting Relationships: Will report to the Tech Lead
About the role
- The front-end developer is responsible for the overall application experience for LifeBank visitors. She/he will implement visual design elements that users will see when they interact with all LifeBank platforms. Aligning LifeBank’s business goals with technology is also a key task of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
- Develop and ensure that user-facing features are friendly and easy to use
- Collaborate with other units to design and create new features for LifeBank applications
- Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to back end developer
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
- Design and create mockups and user journeys for a wide range of devices (desktop, tablet, phone)
- Review user feedback and iterate the user interface
- Perform other IT tasks as assigned
Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- B.Sc/HND in Computer Engineering/ Science or Any related discipline
Experience:
- 2-3 years experience in a similar role with portfolio to show Copywriting ability a plus
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Familiar with front-end and back-end programming language
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Must be able to prepare management reports and correspondence
- Able to connect the dots between business needs, innovation and design
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the entire web development process
- Strong proficiency in image authoring tools such as Photoshop
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
- Have impeccable visual and design skills
- Proficient knowledge of JavaScript frameworks
- Good understanding of SEO principles
