Job For System Administrator at Tropical General Investments Group, 23rd January, 2019


Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group is an international investment and holding company with over three decades in building sustainable businesses in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), agriculture, agro-allied, healthcare, chemicals, real estate and oil and gas in 12 countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Republic of Benin, Morocco, UAE, India, South Africa, China etc. with an over 9,000 multicultural workforce. We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: System Administrator Location: Lagos Duties & Responsibilities Expected activities, Windows Server:

  • Manage server and client software updates
  • Manage company Firewall and End-point service
  • Maintain Active Directory Domain Services
  • Manage User and Service Accounts
  • Implement Group Policy Infrastructure
  • Manage User Desktops using Group Policy
SQL Server:
  • Perform ongoing database maintenance
  • Spare-head Disaster recovery plan “DRP”
  • Configure SQL Server databases and storage
  • Plan and implement a backup strategy
  • Monitor SQL Server, trace SQL Server activity
Exchange Server (Mail Admin):
  • Perform basic management of Exchange Server
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery
  • Ensure message hygiene and security
  • Proactive manage PM to prevent spam ware and malicious attack
Others:
  • Carry out routine and effective preventive maintenance on hardware systems.
  • Monitor incident compliance within SLA and resolution of all escalated tickets
  • Monthly statutory checklist and report generations for KPIs follow-up & IT achievements
  • Periodic review on IT Service Management and quality control checks
  • End-User training on desktop/laptop use including team capability building
  • Test and evaluate new technology
Education, Experience & Other Requirements
  • A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent (BE/B.Tech/BSc. in Computer Science/Information Technology
  • DBA certification
  • Microsoft Certification
  • ITIL foundation
Competencies Required (Knowledge, Skills & Attributes):
  • Domain admin
  • Possess working knowledge status in Networking
  • Good knowledge of client services devices including Laptop/Desktop/Printers/Scanners/Projectors etc
  • 8+ years demonstrated experience supporting an IT environment and progressive administrative experience
  • Good Troubleshooting techniques and excellent communications and report writing skill
  • Teamwork skills and the ability to feel comfortable working with different teams, clients and groups of staff across the organization.
  • Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows Server Operating System
  • Leading edge in Database management and Networking
  • Proficient in use of MS Office suites, MS Projects and Visio
  • Innovative mindset
  • Mail administrator with expertise in Endpoint and Sophos will be an advantage
