Our Daily Bread Ministries (ODB) is a non-denominational, not for profit Christian organization. Our mission is to make the life-changing wisdom of the Bible understandable and accessible to all, and our vision is to see people of all nations experiencing a personal relationship with Christ, growing to be more like Him and serving in a local body of His family. We are recruiting to fill the position of:     Job Title: Designer Location: Lagos Longevity Requirement: 4 Years Position Summary

  • Work with Project and Brand Managers from multiple channels of Our Daily Bread Ministries to develop customer-centered experiences, products, and promotions.
  • This includes creative direction, design execution, and project review within agreed timeline. Maintain brand consistency throughout all pieces.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools.
Essential Functions
  • Conceptualize, design, and generate visual solutions for Our Daily Bread Ministry projects. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Catalogs
    • Ad Designs / Promotional Materials
    • Books (Cover & Interior)
    • Envelopes and Letters
    • Packaging for Books, Media, CD, etc.
    • Digital Ads (static)
  • Work closely with marketing and production teams to ensure that all work follows the correct review and approval processes.
  • Stay abreast of current design trends and apply them in ways that are mindful of Our Daily Bread’s mission, but at the same time pushes the creative expression to new levels - ultimately, in support of our mission.
  • Design occasional special projects.
  • Assist with the acquisition of stock photography, maintain department projects logs and process team invoices.
  • This role will be charged with creative problem solving to communicate key messaging and amplify user-experience, apply modern design trends to Our Daily Bread Ministries’ resources in ways that create stunning design executions in support of the mission, as well as work with and manage freelance designer and vendors to complete projects as needed.
Job Specifications Study or Knowledge and Experience:
  • Ability to work independently to creative direction
  • Excellent organizational skills - ensuring all work is delivered on time; detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written
  • Strive to live a life consistent with Biblical principles and demonstrate continued growth and spiritual development.
  • BA Degree in Commercial Design plus five years (minimum) of full-time practical design experience
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud-emphasis on InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, & Acrobat
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel)
  • Proficiency in file preparation, preflight and file output processes.
  • Understanding of 4 and 5-color printing processes.
  • Proficiency with typography and image selection and legal use.
Internal Work Environment:
  • Frequent communication with all teams involved in the production of ODBM marketing, websites, and resources.
External Communication Requirements:
  • This position may require frequent creative and technical communication with outside photographers/stock houses, agencies, publishers, developers, and outside organizations.
Leadership Responsibility:
  • Project leadership to coordinate and communicate on all projects with art director and marketing teams.
  • Leadership in providing creative solutions for the needs of the ministry, managing outside vendors, interns, and self-managing work flow and schedules.
Stewardship of Resources:
  • Seeks the most cost-effective means to accomplish each project without sacrificing relevant design.
