  • As a Technical Success Manager, you will primarily manage Developers placed on engagements with Partners, and ensure that teams are working well together. You would walk a very fine line between the Success of our Partners and the Success of our Developers. Our Partners operate in a wide-range of industries, but their common thread is that they create mobile and/or web-based products that bring value to their customers through the use of technology.
  • As a key Partner-facing member of  Andela’s Partner support team, you will be responsible for providing team and engagement support in relevant areas. Our core consulting model is embedded software developers and teams.
  • Distributed work environments are growing in popularity but the lack of physical proximity still brings unique operational challenges. No two days will ever be alike, variety will be constant.
  • With your knowledge of business, technology, remote communication and agile project management, you will help make the distance between our engineers and their teams---thousands of kilometers in most cases---feel like a logistical afterthought.
Key Responsibilities The specific responsibilities of the Technical Success Manager position include:
  • Direct Management of up to 20 Developers embedded within global Partners, to ensure their success
  • Accountable for technical delivery of Developers embedded with up to 10 Partners
  • Collaborate with Solution Architect and Partner Experience to ensure engagement support
  • Primary technical delivery/quality escalation point both to Partners and Developers in terms of:
    • Ensuring Developer’s delivery are aligned with Partners goals and visions
    • Ensuring that Developers understand business context, value and impact of their tasks
    • Working with Developers in regards task brainstorm, decomposition and prioritization
    • Providing high level design support on how to solve specific coding challenges.
    • Performing code reviews when required
  • Guide the first 30-days impression relative to effective communication, on-boarding expectations etc.
  • Share, advocate for and promote best practices in engagements across their team
  • Mentor and Coach direct reports on their team
  • Accountable for Partner and Developer related action plans, to resolve delivery concerns
  • Support Success via reporting compliance using key internal tools
  • KPI monitoring/review to enable Partner/Team/Developer success and compliance
  • Collaborate on Developer’s Performance Management: tracking, plans, process, review, survey
  • Support the Senior Success Manager (SSM) on strategic, operational, and team areas
  • Effective collaboration with other Success Managers (Success Operations, Consultant Manager etc.)
Qualifications & Characteristics As the ideal candidate for this role you:
  • May have a 4-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited University
  • Have at least 4 years experience working in software development, technology consulting etc.
  • Are proficient in at least one of the following stacks:
    • Ruby/Ruby on Rails
    • PHP/Laravel/Lumen
    • Python/Django/Flask
    • Java/Android
    • JavaScript/MEAN/PEAN/PREN
    • iOS/Swift
    • iOS/Objective C
  • Have a strong understanding of agile software development techniques
  • Have experience working remotely as an effective member of a team
  • Have vibrant personality and exceptional communication skills (English, verbal and written)

      Job Title: Senior Operations Manager Location: Lagos, Nigeria About the role
  • The Role of the Senior Operations Manager is to plan, direct and coordinate the company’s operations functions in Nigeria.
  • The individual will be responsible for improving performance, productivity, efficiency and cost effectiveness through the implementation of effective methods and strategies across all fronts in the Operations department and the business as a whole.
Responsibilities Lead all operational elements of Andela Lagos:
  • Learn how Andela’s Lagos operations work and optimize and manage every aspect of our operations function
  • Lead the core-operations, facilities and procurement
  • Oversee the facilities and real estate team, including both office and residential  properties to ensure safety and security across locations
  • Develop and maintain highly detailed budgets and timely financial projections
  • Complete quarterly (or more) financial and operational reviews and reports
  • Responsible for the delivery of overall operational targets.
  • Display excellent leadership, people management, communication and influencing skills at a senior level
Build strong processes and systems:
  • Maintain and create highly-structured processes and systems with a data-driven approach
  • Maintain and create “playbooks,” detailed manuals that document all relevant parts of the Andela operating model; continually update and improve manuals in preparation for supporting other teams
  • Foster regular engagement with key client contacts in line with client expectations.
  • Identify operational best practice through interaction with the wider team
  • Ensure delivery of Client KPIs/Sales targets including day to day service levels, customer experience, quality measures and compliance measures
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to build systems and processes that successfully communicate all topline recurring indicators of success and that explain and troubleshoot any major outliers or obstacles to success
  • Demonstrate achievement of results e.g. business improvements, cost savings, revenue generation
  • Drive Business Continuity initiatives
Manage, coach and mentor a strong team:
  • Manage all operations staff members including facilities, logistics, and other cross-functional teams
  • Provide structured evaluations of employee performance at least twice a year
  • Design a well-defined Communication and Engagement model to ensure all teams understand the performance of the business and the needs of their teams
  • Develop the operational talent pool by optimising the skills of the existing team and ensuring a succession plan is in place
  • Forge a partnership with our internal recruitment team to identify and attract the very best external talent for key roles within the team.
  • Suggest and create job descriptions, screen candidates and make recommendations for any needed roles in addition to existing team
Qualifications Ideal candidates for this role will have:
  • At least 7-10 years of post-undergraduate, full-time work experience
  • Experience managing operations, including detailed budgeting and reporting, in a complex environment
  • Experience rapidly growing /scaling a project
  • Experience developing and managing a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Experience managing and coordinating teams to deliver on a tight schedule
  • Work and living experience in emerging markets, particularly in Nigeria or elsewhere in Africa
  • Record of strong academic performance from a leading undergraduate and, if attended, graduate institution

      Job Title: Senior Community Manager, Technical Talent Location: Lagos, Nigeria About the Community Manager, Technical Talent Role
  • You will be responsible for leading, building, and maintaining Andela’s talent pipeline and pre fellowship initiatives (internally and externally) and scalable programs that attract a broad, diverse group of aspiring African Technologists and prepare them for the Andela Fellowship as well as other opportunities in the global economy.
  • Leading the community and owning the brand of Andela,to attract new community members and fellows to the organization.
  • Build and own country specific and regional strategy, outreach and messaging for Community-at-large.
  • Build models, metrics of success and growth strategies, ensuring long-term success and growth of our community.
Developer Ecosystem Engagement:
  • Define community building and engagement strategy for the region.

Requirements As the idea candidates for this role you should have:
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant managerial experience and strong leadership skills.
  • Deep understanding of the Rwanda Developer Ecosystem will be a plus (other notable community experience will be accepted)
  • Understanding of how to leverage technology and build scalable systems, programs, and team without compromising quality;
  • Have outstanding written and spoken communication skills as well as good listening skills.
  • Are a self-starter who can accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.

      Job Title: Manager, Engineering Experience (HRBP) Location: Lagos, Nigeria About the Role

This is an amazing opportunity for a passionate and talented HRBP to innovate alongside a stellar team and equally passionate and driven managers. Your role will support the implementation of a variety of programs and initiatives that create a compelling employee experience for all engineers at Andela. This role is an awesome opportunity to blend employee advocacy and engagement with driving key business outcomes.
  • You will act as a liaison for employees and managers, focusing on supporting and implementing people team programs. You will provide guidance and support on people processes, procedures and initiatives. You will collect qualitative feedback that assists the broader Engineering Experience team in delivering both exceptional partner and employee experiences.
  • This role reports to a more senior member of the Eng Exp team (Manager or SM)
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of engineering experience programs and initiatives through execution including retention strategies, performance management, recognition and reward, culture and connection, career development and advancement, onboarding
  • 1st point of contact for engineers on all matters including lifecycle events.
  • Able to resolve issues independently and minimize escalations, seamless transfer between you, people operations and partner engineering
  • Support partner engineering and (future management structure for engineers) to nurture a culture that rewards growth in critical skills, competencies and delivery
  • Connect engineers to learning and growth opportunities provided by TDD, amplify learning and development strategies and communications
  • Work with Senior HRBP for your pod to manage communication and engagement especially with regard to change, providing clarity and transparency
  • Manage employee relations, disciplinary/grievances,
  • Genuine interest in building and maintaining relationships with engineers, partner engineering and the broader people team in service of creating a compelling employee value proposition.
Qualifications
  • Meaningful directly relevant experience as an HRBP ideally in a fast paced/dynamic start up or technology environment
  • Stellar track record that includes demonstrated proactivity/initiative, creative problem solving, critical thinking, execution focus
  • Have a strong sense of business ethics and ability to appropriately handle confidential information and demonstrate a solid understanding of Human Resources Management Processes, Culture and Performance Management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and interface with Management teams and Line Managers
  • Ability to create effective working partnerships with key stakeholders that enable you to execute effectively
  • Strong interest in leveraging data to inform decisions
  • Experience in a challenging, changing, complex business environment with a special focus on multiculturalism (and internationalism).
  • Passion for what you do, empathy in how you do it, discomfort with the things being just “ok”
  • Previous experience in coaching employees and management through moderately complex issues
  • Knowledge of in-country employment regulations, e.g. Country labor/employee relations statutes and capacity to apply them to Andela. Ability to adapt applicable Global labour laws into local practices as required. Experience with other East African countries is a plus.
