  • The SM “owns” her/his store, leads and inspires her/his team to achieve the sales and profit targets through
  • inspirational leadership. The SM has the ability to coach and develop her/his team to grow to a highly effective level and is able to keep the deployment of staff as less as possible (high productivity).
  • The SM is extremely critical on the daily operations and ensures a high retail store performance by being sharp on cash management, stock management (incoming & outgoing), freshness, clean and hygienic spaces, clean racks and equipment, the HACCP rules and JARA’s Food Safety Plan. He also needs to oversee the right execution of the planograms and article presentations, goods on the shelves, pricing and other indoor communications, the service to our customers, friendliness, and the store’s administration. And, bottom-line the SM is critical on her/his own success and that of the team.
  • The SM leads her/his team by example by executing the BPs accordingly and by monitoring strictly the execution of the business processes (BPs), conducted by her/his team. The SM is hands-on, enjoys leading from the front and drives performance through her/his team, stimulates improvements and demands efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
  • B.Sc in Retail, Commercial, Economics or Wholesales Management over 3 years’ experience in (food) retail performance management in a commercial and customer focused environment experience in store operations.

    Job Title: Fresh Food Technologist Location: Lagos Job Description
  • The FT extremely ensures that food products are produced safely, with high quality, legally and that the food products are safe to consume (quality assurance and food safety). The FT builds relationships with suppliers and authorities, and supports the Sales & Operations dept. and the PL manager.
  • The FT develops and reviews JARA’s HACCP norms and the state of hygiene. The FT also frequently controls the stores on the execution of the HACCP rules and the state of hygiene, especially regarding the fresh groups.
  • The Food Technologist (FT) formulates and manages the recipes for the “own production” (Bread and Service Food). Regarding the Butchery, the FT works closely together with the fresh meat supplier who is responsible for executing the butchery (outsourced).
  • The FT controls and oversees especially the “own production” and oversees the quality of F&V and dry products, and oversees the physical and bio-chemical properties of the total JARA assortment, especially regarding the private label (PL).
  • The FT develops the ingredient specifications for the production process at the manufactures for PL and is involved with the packaging and marketing plans for the PL assortment.
  • The FT also devises and sources ingredients for products and finds the best ways of combining, processing, storing and preserving the ingredients to maintain quality, taste, and nutritional value. The FT ensures the profitability of the own production and PL.
