A Regulatory Agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria wishes to strengthen its workforce for advocacy, standard setting, monitoring and enforcement of compliance with standards in financial reporting and corporate governance. Accordingly, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for recruitment into the positions below:     Job Title: Legal Officer Location: Nigeria Category: Legal and Enforcement Responsibilities and Duties

  • General Counsel
  • Providing legal advice on compliance and enforcement activities
  • Board Relationship: Board meetings and correspondence
Qualifications
  • Candidates should have a first degree in Law with a minimum of Second Upper-Class Honours and a minimum of 7 years experience.
    Job Title: Manager Location: Nigeria Category: Standard Setting and Compliance Monitoring Responsibilities and Duties
  • Research emergent accounting issues and develop financial reporting standards and/or guidelines for use by financial statement preparers;
  • Monitor compliance with accounting and financial reporting standards via regular review of corporate reporting;
  • Conduct routine, special and/or forensic investigations of suspected professional misconduct and/or fraudulent financial reporting;
  • Develop auditing and assurance standards and related guidelines for use by professional accountants; and
  • Conduct practice and/or engagement quality reviews of the work of registered assurance professionals and firms.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should have a first Degree, preferably in Accounting or related disciplines, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and a professional accounting qualification.
  • In addition, a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in public auditing and/or corporate financial reporting, strong written and oral communication skills and current knowledge of international accounting and assurance standards is required.
    Job Title: Company Secretary Location: Nigeria Category: Legal and Enforcement Responsibilities and Duties

Qualifications
  • Candidates should have a first degree in Law with a minimum of Second Upper-Class Honours and a minimum of 7 years experience.
  • Candidates should have at least 5 years experience in the general counsel and/or company secretary role in the industry, and professional membership of the institute of Chartered Secretaries Administration (ICSA) or similar body will be an added advantage.
    Job Title: Senior Manager Location: Nigeria Category: Standard Setting and Compliance Monitoring Responsibilities and Duties
  • Research emergent accounting issues and develop financial reporting standards and/or guidelines for use by financial statement preparers;
  • Monitor compliance with accounting and financial reporting standards via regular review of corporate reporting;
