Job Title: Modern Trade Channel Management Officer Location: Lagos
Summary
  • The Modern Trade Channel Management Officer will be primarily responsible for ensuring effective achievement of sales, distribution and merchandising targets through effective planning, leading, relationship management and controlling daily activities in the Modern trade stores of today.
Responsibilities
  • Build & maintain relationship with managers, directors of key accounts.
  • Manage the sales team by outlining clear objectives.
  • Implement and recommend sales strategies and plans.
  • Set objectives and targets for the sales staff and the distribution network in the assigned area .
  • Understand and follow the competitive market situation.
  • Management of the sales administration (credit, delivery co-ordination, cash, commissions and report writing)
  • Maximize customer service and take any necessary action to maintain same including the satisfaction of any customer complaints.
  • Adhere to the company’s Accounting and Administration policies and guidelines.
  • Identify and act on cost reduction opportunities especially those that arise out of increased collaboration with the customer.
  • Set up Standard Operating Procedures to service Key Account Customers.
  • Manage and build strong business relationships with all key supermarket and hypermarket accounts whilst managing and overseeing the profitability of the company’s business by developing long-term and short-term sales goals, as well as channel strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities and develop sales activities for the channel, possibly through working closely with the product and trade marketing teams and overseeing the performance of the accounts in terms of their category and shelf analysis, sales and promotional effectiveness.
  • Achieve agreed sales volume and control of expenses.
  • Product Management (Forecast, Availability, Listing, Merchandising, Shelf Share, Pricing).
  • Development and retention of the distribution network timely and professionally.
  • Update yearly contract with business terms favorable for the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualification
  • Minimum of HND/B.Sc in any discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role in the FMCG sector.
  • Experience dealing with trading terms of Supermarkets. Good connection with Hypermarkets and Supermarkets is an added advantage.
Skills:
  • Budget management experience.
  • Good and effective communication and negotiation skills, leadership.
  • Ability to communicate at different organizational levels.
  • Applicants must be resident within Lekki/Ajah axis
  • Good knowledge of Supermarkets and Hypermarkets.
  • Ability to use office tools
