Gombe State Polytechnic, Bajoga was established in the year 2014 under the Polytechnic law of 2014 passed in to law by Gombe State House of Assembly. The Pioneer Management Staff were appointed in September, 2014. The Polytechnic commenced Academic activities in January 2017. The Governing Council of the Gombe State Polytechnic, Bajoga, hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position below which will become vacant on 29th September, 2019:     Job Title: Librarian Location: Gombe The Post

• The Polytechnic Librarian is a Principal Officer and shall be responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day running of the Libraries of the institution.

• A good honours Degree in Library and Information Science with a minimum of Second Class Honours from a recognized institution of higher learning plus at least Ten (10) years cognate experience; Or a holder of Master's (MLS) Degree from a recognized institution of higher learning plus at least eight (8) years cognate experience; Or a holder of Doctorate Degree plus at least seven (7) years cognate experience in a tertiary institution.
• Experience as a Chief Librarian for a period of not less than 3 years on the rank from the Polytechnic sector will be an added advantage.

• Not be more than 60 years of age at the time of assumption of duty.
• Be a person of proven integrity, intellectually sound, professionally skillful, and conversant with the rules and regulations of the Polytechnic system and IT compliant.
• Vast in public service rules and Financial Regulations
• Physically fit, morally upright of impeccable character and free from financial embarrassment
• Be a person not likely to exhibit ethnic, political, religious or other sectional sentiments in the discharge of duties.

• The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years and no more.

• The conditions of service for the posts are as enacted in the Polytechnic's law and the Condition of service applicable in the state.

• The remunerations shall be as approved by National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission.

• The Rector is the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the Polytechnic and is responsible to the Governing Council in running the affairs of the institution.

• Applicant should have a Doctorate Degree and experience in any of the fields of Science, Technology, Commerce, Engineering, Management or Humanities from a recognised institution of higher learning plus at least fifteen (15) years cognate experience in a Polytechnic or any recognized tertiary institution
• The candidate shall not be below the rank of Chief Lecturer in the Polytechnic system or Associate Professor in the University system
• The applicant membership of a professional body or bodies shall be an added advantage.
