Value Seeds Limited was incorporated in 2009 and started business same year.  We are in the business of research, multiplication and distribution of field crops; importation and distribution of assorted vegetable seeds. We are licensed by National Agricultural Seeds Council. We are a member of SEEDAN (Seeds Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria) and one of the 8-member Ad hoc Committee set up to run the affairs of seed industry in Nigeria today. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: KadunaJob Description
  • Value Seeds Limited, a top-notch agricultural seed company is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to set up, maintain and operate our machinery.
  • A great mechanical engineer is reliable and able to work with attention to details and safety standards..
  • The goal will be to ensure that production procedures using the machineries and plants will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.
Responsibilities
  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain activity logs
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a machine operator
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals

Qualification The candidate:
  • Must have a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or cognate fields

Job Title: Head of Marketing Location: KadunaJob Description
  • We are looking for a Head of Marketing who will lead all our marketing activities.
  • His or her responsibilities shall include developing plans to help establish our brand, allocating resources to different projects and setting short-term and long-term department goals.
  • Ultimately, the preferred candidate will run our Marketing department in ways that promote higher profitability and competitiveness.
Responsibilities
  • Craft strategies for all Marketing teams, including Digital, Advertising, Communications and Creative
  • Prepare and manage weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual budgets for the Marketing department

  • Preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing accounting information.

Job Title: Account Officer Location: KadunaJob Descriptions
  • Value Seeds Limited, a top-notch agricultural seed company is looking for an Accounting Officer to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks.
  • The preferred candidate will be saddled with the responsibilities of keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements.
  • He/ She will also run accounting software programs (e.g. SAGE50) to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts.
  • A successful accounting officer should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers.
  • Ultimately, a successful Accounting Clerk will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
  • Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
