  • The Laboratory technician is a member of the health team, and will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Emergency Reproductive Health activities in Maiduguri including the MISP (Minimum Initial Service Package for RH in Crisis Situations) according to the IRC and donor work plans.
  • He / She would perform diagnostic investigations as well as maintain the laboratory equipment in the IRC field sites.
  • The laboratory technician will ensure the quality of medical tests done in the IRC field sites and the IRC supported health facility.
Major Responsibilities
  • In line with the Minimal Initial Service Package (MISP),
  • Take samples and perform medical laboratory investigations requested by the clinical staff
  • Adhere to and practice use of Universal Precautions and proper waste management at all IRC supported health facilities.
  • Take inventory of laboratory supplies and make request for laboratory stock
  • Maintain the confidentiality of clients and accord them dignity
  • Document information and maintain daily logs and laboratory equipment record books.
  • Keep laboratory equipment operational and following the operating instructions
  • Perform quality control tests and calibrate laboratory equipment where applicable.
  • Update hard and soft skills by participating in trainings.
  • Monitor program supply inventory levels; perform monthly spot-checks on program inventory
  • Work with and provide timely technical support to IRC’s implementing partners; maintain respectful and constructive professional relationship with partner staff, services providers and patients.
  • Fully comply with IRC safety and security procedures and provide input to security monitoring and assessments to enable and promote a safe and secure environment for program implementation

Qualifications
  • Education: Qualified laboratory technician/ laboratory scientist with a degree/diploma and a practicing license
Work Experience:
  • At least 2 years laboratory experience.

  • Ability to maintain beneficiary confidentiality and respect at all times is essential.

Work Environment:
  • The laboratory technician will work in the Bakassi camp clinic in Maiduguri as well as coordinate the laboratories in other field sites. This is security level 3 - orange.

  • The HR Intern will play an important role in supporting the HR Operations team but also have the opportunity to recommend improvements and impact real change.

Major Responsibilities
  • Filing of NHF, Health Insurance form, Time sheet, leave request and all staff document to their respective files.
  • Assist in updating files, scanning of document and scanning and photo copy of payroll document, labeling of all staff files accordingly.

  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new hires
  • Tracking of leave request form, staff movement, timesheet, contract tracking and travel document and document for payment.

  • Assure that all facilities are well functioning, including housekeeping, office supplies, electricity, maintenance and repair, internet and other communications functions in the field office.

  • Maintain proper records of all correspondence.
  • Assist in procurement and distribution of monthly airtime by 30 of each month for new month distribution.
  • Regular supervision of Cleaners and Cooks in the GH and Offices.

Scope of Work
  • The IT Assistant will be primarily responsible with providing support for our internal users on the use of their desktops and laptops. Through our ticketing system, by direct contact and the telephone they will provide users with solutions to questions and issues with their computer hardware and software.
Responsibilities
  • Level I Help Desk Support - Including but not limited to assistance with password resets, account creations, desktop and laptop builds and printer support
  • Level II Help Desk Support - Including but not limited to anti-virus assistance, Windows 7 support, Microsoft Office 2013 support, general laptop, desktop and printer repair, and light network troubleshooting
  • Enterprise Ticket Management - Work inside our enterprise ticketing system, Service-Now, to provide timely and transparent customer support of all requests
  • Hardware Inventory - This position will work our Global Supply Chain department in imaging, distributing and tracking all hardware; also tracking and installing all purchased software
  • Preventative Maintenance - Technician will also be responsible for checking on critical systems to ensure there are no interruptions in business continuity and take part in the monthly maintenance “blackout windows”

  • The position holder will closely work with the program team specially in liaising between the community and the organization in terms of information flow from one to the other and vise-versa.
  • S/he will collect feedback coming from the community through the toll free system as well as other feedback mechanisms and pass onto the respective sector team following the organization’s feedback mechanism information flow system or depending the category level of the feedback, respond to the person who reported the complaint.

  • Systematically and securely document the reports;
  • Answer tool free calls, record the complaints/feedback applying the template/s prepared for the purpose;

  • Regularly update herself/himself with IRC projects to understand the areas of thematic and geographic areas of operation;
  • Understand well and brief staff and others on IRC Nigeria Community Accountability Mechanisms;

  • Design a strategy and regularly check whether all the target communities have access to the hotline service and other Feedback Mechanisms;
