  • Our market is very dynamic and evolving very quickly with the proliferation of competition and explosion in modern retail channels which has led to the need for Coca-Cola to continually develop our capabilities for superior market execute to remain leaders. The Franchise Commercial Manager coordinates the development and implementation of our Business plans to drive execution edge primarily focused on the modern trade channels which gives us presence and visibility.
  • This role will require the candidate to be calm under pressure, humble, resilient, collaborative, curious, and have a great knowledge of the business through experience in previous jobs and they will be responsible for leading the development of our channel execution strategy while learning in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Deliverables:
  • Franchise Commercial execution strategy: Provide strategic guidance to Bottling partners in Key customer plans development, lead annual development of Customer Joint Business Plans and promotional strategies leveraging insights from shopper and best practice markets to build “Category Vision”, OBPPC and other advanced customer marketing programs development
  • Market execution and Commercial excellence: Drive commercial capabilities through RTM, RED and the defined Picture of Success leveraging best practices from other markets
  • Implement Customer programs: Ensure execution of programs designed to enhance customer performance by improving in-store availability, visibility and merchandizing. Participate in Customer negotiations, contract renewals and T2T meetings.
  • HORECA: Business partner to bottling Customer team focused on creating and executing platforms to sustain competitive advantage and enhance consumer experience through Schweppes (premium portfolio) activation and deployment of PICOS
  • Build value based and strategic “win-win” relationships with System partners at Bottler middle management and on occasion senior local management levels.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or University first level Business degree qualification
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience with a FMCG company. Experience within an operational function or Bottler experiences would be an added advantage.

  • The person selected for this role needs to be able to identify, prioritize, design, develop and support the integrated choices that the Business Unit (BU) needs to make to drive sustainable returns ahead of business plan targets in the near (operational) and long term (Strategic)
  • Advise key system stakeholders across Strategy, Planning, Innovation, and Digital that result in the identification of competitively advantaged insights and solutions to key business priorities and growth opportunities delivered through optimal resource allocation thereby maximizing the BU’s ROI and resulting in sustainable performance ahead of BU targets
  • The person selected for this role needs to be able to identify, prioritize, design, develop and support the integrated choices that the Business Unit (BU) needs to make to drive sustainable returns ahead of business plan targets in the near (operational) and long term (Strategic)

Key responsibilities Lead projects through driving inspirational and constructively challenging thought leadership on strategic initiatives: Problem identification, work stream structuring, analysis, syndication and solution framing and identification:
  • Provide a fact based and objective perspective to the Business Unit on setting strategic and operational priorities
  • Identify key business opportunities, articulate the business case and develop relevant solutions to solve complex problems
  • Work collaboratively with system partners across geographies and functions to deliver against these priorities
  • Performance and Project management of key strategy, business performance, capability building (talent) initiatives
Lead research and develop insights, both quantitative and qualitative, analyse internal and external data to develop an understanding of the business environment:
  • Opportunity based, Consumer and shopper led, Market, customer and Competitor informed
  • Integrated and aligned across the business (Franchise, function, system partners)
  • Lead system thought leadership / design thinking workshops to address immediate challenges and opportunities
Continuous improvement towards next generation capabilities through support of:
  • Enable strategy implementation, by simplifying, focusing, and ensuring actions remain true to strategy
  • Standardization and automation of the key business processes anchored on aligned objectives and targets
  • Optimization and modernization of digital, research, insights surveying and data mining tools and protocols
Provide thought leadership and support for the sustainability agenda:
  • Capability building:
    • Help embed and drive Project based Ways of Working and Agile
    • Develop advanced strategic toolkit and leverage these to lead capability building across the BU
  • Develop Capability/Talent: Coach and develop direct report (s) to maximize full and current potential
  • Geographic coverage: 33 Sub-Saharan market with +620m consumers
Team and People Management:
  • Ability to work in a fluid organization setting where the focus is the initiative (work); ability to quickly establish oneself in a new project team; ability to move from one team to another quickly and work in multiple teams at the same time.
  • Self driven and able to work with remote management
  • Comfortable working with senior leaders across the system
  • Leadership influencing skills
Required Qualifications
  • Strategy with strong focus on qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Variety of experiences is more critical than number of years
  • Consulting experience required (ideally from top tier consulting firms)
  • Fluent in English. French or Portuguese an added advantage.
  • Solid communication skills
  • +10 years of relevant strategic experience
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS)
  • Bachelors must be (Quantitative discipline e.g., Engineering, Economics, Statistics, etc.)
