We are recruiting to fill the positions below:   Job Title: State Coordinator Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2019-029 Locations:  Borno & Adamawa Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract) Duties Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:

  • Manage stakeholder platforms at State and Local Government levels
  • Link Stakeholders to Government agencies and non-Governmental Organizations
  • Facilitate implementation of all Activity Interventions in the Local Government Areas and communities
  • Supervise field agents in the implementation of field operations
  • Link Stakeholders to Government agencies and non-Governmental Organizations
  • Facilitate implementation of all Activity interventions in the Local Government Areas and communities
  • Facilitate training programs at all levels
  • Promote linkages between the various value chain actors

Qualification
  • A post-graduate degree in Plant/Crop Science, Public Administration or related fields with minimum of eight (8) years professional experience performing similar role in a structured organization.

      Job Title: Technical Field Officer Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2019-029 Locations:  Borno & Adamawa Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract) Duties Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • Contribute to capacity building of input dealers and Agrochemical companies, extension agents, volunteer extension facilitators and community seed producers
  • In consultation with Senior System Agronomist, they will be responsible for advising on the technical aspects of the agricultural activities including mechanization
  • Link smallholder farmers to aggregators, processors, and markets
  • Work closely with the Program Officers to oversee all aspects of implementation

  • Assist in day to day Activity administrative duties
  • Provide logistical support for all Activity trainings, seminars and workshops
  • Keep inventory of office equipment and supplies
  • Assist in the preparation of requests for internal purchases and Purchase Orders of office stationery, machineries, and assist in the following up and handling of purchases/oracle requests
  • Assist in basic financial record posting and verification on the budget
  • Coordinate and implement office procedures for smooth-running and effective office functioning

      Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Field Officer Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2019-029 Locations:  Borno & Adamawa Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract) Duties Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • Responsible for managing data collection, analysis and storage efforts and the Activity databases
  • Assist in the development and/or finalization of the Activity Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with Activity Interventions and timeframes
  • Review their existing approaches and management information systems and agree on any required changes
  • Collect data on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators
  • Check data quality with partners; implement the Activity M&E techniques and data management protocols
  • Implement and coordinate M&E activities according to M&E Plan
  • Prepare technical reports detailing the results of Activity M&E activities
  • Prepare and consolidate quarterly and annual reports on activities relating to Activity implementation
  • Present and deliver results to stakeholders

      Job Title: Field Security Officer Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2019-029 Locations: Borno and Adamawa Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract) Duties Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • Assist in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risk to the USAID Activity in Adamawa and Borno States to ensure that the Activity operates within acceptable risk levels
  • Collate, analyze and disseminate security information as approved or advised by the CoP or Head, IITA Security Unit to staff and ensuring the information remains accurate and neutral
  • Assist to conduct security risk assessment of program locations in Adamawa and Borno using the standard Security Risk Assessment (SRA) & Security Level tool and to monitor the contextual trends prior to and continuously after deployment of staff
  • Contribute to the development or review of security standards operating procedures
  • Work closely with Activity Managers to ensure that safety and security standards within the offices are maintained and implemented in line with the assessment reports and conduct security and safety training

Qualification

      Job Title: Information and Communication Technology Officer Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2019-029 Location: Adamawa Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract) Duties Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • Assist in installing and ensuring proper functioning of voice network (IP PBX)
  • Assist in monitoring internet system operation to detect potential problems
  • Assist in installing, upgrading and maintaining all LAN items
  • Support LANs & WANs network segments, internet and intranet systems
  • Assist in maintaining system efficiency and ensure design of system and allow all its components to work properly

      Job Title: Communication and Knowledge Manager Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2019-029 Location: Adamawa Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract) Duties Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement a detailed communication and knowledge exchange plan for the Activity in close collaboration with Activity experts, partners and the Chief of Party
  • Establish and maintain approaches to ensure the sustainable, timely, transparent and interconnected two-way exchange of knowledge across the Activity
  • Manage and ensure effective stakeholder relationships and knowledge exchange approaches by engaging in dialog and using feedback mechanisms with Activity partners, ADPs and beneficiaries
  • Manage Activity events, including press conferences, promotional events and exhibits
  • Set up, design and coordinate an online media platform on Activity results in close collaboration with a social media expert
  • Support web-based tools and social media for widespread communication of knowledge generated

      Job Title: Nutrition Manager Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2019-029 Locations: Borno & Adamawa Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract) Duties Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • Provide technical support to small and medium scale processors on processing and utilization
  • Conduct Training of Trainers workshops and demonstrations for households on the development, processing and utilization of diverse and nutrient dense crops products
  • Conduct trainings on nutrition education and WASH
  • Promote the preparation, utilization and consumption of diverse and nutrient dense crops and promote them among smallholder farmers
  • Promote consumption of nutrient dense crops
  • Undertake nutrition campaigns in the relevant State to reduce malnutrition among farm households
  • Work with non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations to disseminate technologies on legumes processing and utilization of different location specific crops

      Job Title: Driver III Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2019-029 Location: Borno and Adamawa Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract) Duties Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • Drive Activity vehicles in a safe and courteous manner and support field operations
  • Perform necessary cleaning and washing of the assigned vehicles as needed
  • Maintain Activity vehicles and provide timely advice to the transport office of any assigned vehicle requiring maintenance services in line with IITA Vehicle Usage and Maintenance Policy

  • Prepare the Annual Procurement Plan of the Activity using inputs from Activity Experts
  • Undertake preparation of bidding documents under the IITA Standard Operating Procedures
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and documents
  • Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries, and services
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers
  • Promote good procurement practices with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards, and whole life costing

Qualification

  • CIPSM, ACA or other relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.

      Job Title: Project Accountant Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2019-029 Location:  Adamawa Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract) Duties Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • Manage the Activity accounting system to ensure that incomes and expenditures are properly documented
  • Prepare petty cash payments, journals and other vouchers and ensure that these are posted into general and other account ledgers
  • Responsibile for processing of advances and claims for payment
  • Maintain cash advances register for follow up on the reimbursements of advances
  • Check accounting records for accuracy and correctness as necessary
  • Enforce proper internal control in the Activity Finance Unit
  • Account for Activity payables and receivables
  • Provide Bank reconciliation status on the relationship between the program and its commercial banks
  • Prepare invoices and chargeback statements for services provided to individuals or other institutions and partners

Qualifications
  • A post graduate degree in Accounting, Business Management or related fields from an accredited university.
  • The ideal candidate must be chartered member of ICAN or possess ACCA with minimum a of 5 years working experience as an Accountant or Accounting Officer in an organization or a related role in a donor funded organization or project.
Competencies The ideal candidate must:
  • Excellent computer skills with good grasp and knowledge of spreadsheets, word
  • processing and other MS office applications. Good knowledge of Oracle Applications will be an added advantage
  • Have proven skill and experience in areas of financial management, organization,
