Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Lagos Department: Works and Services
Summary
  • We are seeking a skilled, reliable, efficient quantity surveyor to join our growing organization. In this position, you will estimate the costs of construction projects, working with contractors, builders, and architects to provide the most cost-effective plans that meet high-quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
  • Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
  • Allocate work to subcontractors
  • Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations
  • Advice on the maintenance costs of specific buildings.
  • Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Keeping track of materials and order levels, ordering more when required.
  • Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports
  • Advise on a procurement strategy
Educational Qualifications and Requirements
  • B.Sc or HND in Quantity Surveying, Management or similar.
  • Membership in relevant body is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years cognate working experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • A practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking
  • Strong numeracy and financial management skills
  • Negotiation and team work skills
  • Ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people
  • Ability to motivate and lead those on site.
  • Sound knowledge of construction
  • Ability to organize, plan, and strategize
