Product Developing Officer Job in a Standardized IT firm in Lagos


A highly standardized IT firm, is looking for a business inclined, innovative and dynamic individual to fill the position of Product Development Officer.

Job Title:   Product Developing Officer
Role Objectives
  • Explore  and  acquire  deep  understanding  of  full  capabilities  of  company’s  products  for  the  purpose  of supporting sales team with product knowledge sessions, technical product demonstrations to customers and development of technical proposals for winning customer business
  • Research and implement complementary content, software, products & solutions to company’s products that would increase value delivered to customers
  • Interface with respective company’s product Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for all support required to aid deep product understanding and customer sales demonstrations
  • Create bundle product offers (where applicable) for company’s products and communicate same to all necessary internal teams
Main Responsibilities & Duties
  • Implement/ execute product training session for technical products for the sales team and any other necessary internal teams
  • Prepare product knowledge materials (in collaboration with brand & communications team) to equip all necessary  internal  teams  and  customers  with  information on company’s products  or  use  other  internally available platforms for communicating same e.g. To all staff of company or customer weekly or monthly newsletters
  • Hold product demonstration sessions (internally and externally) to promote company’s product knowledge towards delivering increased sales e.g. demos at technology fairs or conferences, directly to clients or in their office, exhibitions, events, etc.
  • Support sales team with detailed technical proposals if and when required on applicable company’s products
  • Attend technology product or solutions fairs, exhibitions, required to continually be exposed to new trends in the industry, to aid recommendations on new lines of businesses for the company
  • Meet personal sales target and actively support sales team members to attain team targets
  • Regularly  research,  make  recommendations  and  implement  new  products  or  additional  content/ software/ solutions to existing products that would enhance the value that the company can deliver to its range of customers
  • Coordinate, execute and follow up on product demo sessions for customers which will be held within the company’s premises
  • Experience Centre (EEC) towards ensuring most sessions generate sales
  • Interface with relevant OEM contacts to ensure that all information and support required to sufficiently equip the company regarding the OEM products which will be obtained and circulated to all
  • Coordinate, arrange and attend necessary OEM trainings on product knowledge or introduction of new product models, etc.
  • Engage and coordinate support from right contact with OEM as regards execution of customer demons if and when required
  • Create product bundle offers based on existing or new products that the company offers and communicate same to relevant internal teams, in collaboration with brands & communication team
  • Generate  regular  report  on  effectiveness  and  assessed  impact  of  executed  activities,  and  make recommendations on additional future activities that product team can execute in supporting sales
  • Ensure information regarding all company’s products are accurately captured and updated on company’s website (in collaboration with brand & communications team)
  • Keep accurate database of all client contacts that attend demo sessions at the EEC for marketing purposes
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
  • Manage time efficiently and accomplish tasks within set deadlines
  • Delivers technical solutions to customers allowing them to maximize their investment in technology
  • The delivery of high quality engagements around solution areas, technologies and products in diverse client environments.
  • Stabilizing developed solutions using various methodologies in complex customer environments
  • Understanding the relevant application development, infrastructure and operations implications of the developed solution
  • Providing customer guidance during product and services sales cycle
  • Playing a vital part in business strategy by providing internal practice management risk assessment
  • Driving successful solution deployments by ensuring proper business value and customer/partner satisfaction
Requirements & Skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including command of English
  • Very creative and resourceful – able to make the best use of limited resources
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to work well with key internal and external stakeholders and get them to deliver on required tasks
  • High level of personal drive - identify priority tasks and focus on the same
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Team player with strong initiative, enthusiasm and good business sense
  • Attention to detail and high level of organization
  • Able to work under pressures of deadlines
  • Very IT Savvy, interested & knowledgeable about technology trends
  • Confident to present and demonstrate product capabilities and systems solutions to customers as well as conduct evaluation and implementation of solutions
  • Ability to execute all consulting engagements including evaluating “customers'' strategic business issues, identify requirements, create business case justifications, and propose appropriate enterprise solutions
 Qualification & Experience
  • A university degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3-5 years in similar position within a corporate environment
