2.) Requisite Qualification
A. Academic Positions
i) ProfessorApplicants must hold PhD, Masters and a good Bachelors degree in relevant fields. S/he must have sufficient and relevant publications in peer-reviewed, reputable journals and conference proceedings with at least fourteen (14) years cognate teaching and research experience. In addition, the applicant must be registered with relevant professional bodies, with evidence of academic leadership.
ii) ReaderApplicants must hold PhD, Masters and a good Bachelors degree in relevant fields. S/he must have sufficient and relevant publications in peer-reviewed, reputable journals and conference proceedings with at least eleven (11) years cognate teaching and research experience. In addition, the applicant must be registered with relevant professional bodies, with evidence of academic leadership.
iii) Senior LecturerApplicants must hold PhD Masters and a good Bachelors degree in relevant fields. S/he must have sufficient and relevant publications in peer-reviewed, reputable journals and conference proceedings with at least eight (8) years cognate teaching and research experience. In addition, the applicant must be registered with relevant professional bodies, with evidence of academic leadership.
iv) Lecturer IApplicant must hold PhD, Masters and a good Bachelors degree in the relevant field in addition to having a minimum of five(S) years teaching and research experience and some scholarly publications.
v) Lecturer IIApplicants must hold Masters and a good Bachelors degree in relevant fields. S/he must have sufficient and relevant publications ri peer reviewed, reputable journals and conference proceedings with at least two (2) years cognate experience. In addition, the applicant must be registered with relevant professional bodies, with evidence of academic leadership, Applicants who possess a PhD degree are eligible for appointment to a lectureship without any previous teaching experience.
vi) Assistant LecturerApplicants most hold a Master’s degree and a good first degree in the relevant field. No previous teaching experience is required.
vii) Laboratory
Senior TechnologistCandidate must possess a National diploma (ND)in Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) from a recognized Institution or any other equivalent qualification with at least 2years cognate experience in Institutions Science laboratories.
Technologist I & Technologist IIApplicants must hold a good BSc degree or HND in Science Laboratory Technology or its equivalent with 3 years relevant experience. Holders of ANIST, AIST with six (6) years experience may also apply. A Masters Degree in relevant areas will be an added advantage. Applicants must be registered or registrable with the relevant professional bodies.
B. Senior Administrative Positions
a. Health Sector
i) Director of Hospital ServicesApplicants must possess a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery degree or its equivalent from a recognized University with fifteen years Post Basic Qualification experience. S/he must possess the Fellowship of the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College or its equivalent and an up to date Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. A Postgraduate qualification in Public Health will be an Advantage.
ii) PharmacistApplicants must hold a good B. Pham degree from a recognized University and must be Registrable with the Pharmacists Registration Council of Nigeria, Plus one year post-Registration Cognate experience.
iii) Medical OfficerApplicants must hold a degree in MBBS with a minimum of 2 years experience in Medical Practice at a recognized institution. S/he must be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
iv) Nursing OfficerApplicants must hold a good Bachelors degree in Nursing Science from a recognized University and must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
v) Nursing SuperintendentApplicants must hold the NRN Qualification from a recognized Nursing School within the Country and duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. A post Basic Qualification in Midwifery will be an added advantage.
vi) Laboratory ScientistApplicants must hold a good Bachelors of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) and must be registered or registrable with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
b. Registry
i) Deputy RegistrarApplicants must hold Masters Degree and a good Bachelors degree in relevant fields with at least 15 years post-qualification cognate experience and evidence of membership of a registered professional body.
ii) Principal Assistant RegistrarApplicants must hold Matters and a good Bachelor Degree and possess at least 12 years post-qualification cognate experience and evidence of membership of a registered professional body.
iii) Senior Assistant RegistrarApplicants must hold a Master’s degree plus at least six (6) years post qualification cognate experience or a first degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower plus nine (9) years post qualification cognate experience and evidence of membership of a registered professional body.
iv) Confidential Secretaries/Personal AssistantsApplicants for these positions must possess a minimum of Bachelor’s degree/HND or equivalent in relevant field and at least two years of cognate experience.
S/he must have a good knowledge of MS Office tools, Secretarial duties and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to maintain a good office and work environment and improve office systems.
vi Counseling Psychologist - Guidance And Counseling Applicants must have a Masters Degree and a good Bachelor’s Degree in Guidance and Counselling. S/he must be over 30 years of age and must have served satisfactory as a Counselor in a School setting for at least 3 years. She must also be of good conduct.
vi) CoachApplicants must hold a good degree in Physical Health Education obtained from a recognized University. In addition, to having a minimum of 6 years cognate experience in a Coaching Career.
c. Chief Security Co-OrdinatorApplicants must possess a Masters degree and a good Bachelor in the area of Law, English Language, Sociology, Psychology, Public Administration, and Political Science and must have worked in a military, Police, SSS or paramilitary outfit. S/he must possess good leadership qualities and must be physically and mentally fit without any disability. Possession of a Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
d. ICT
i) Director ICTApplicants must hold a good Bachelor’s Degree and a Masters degree with at least 15 years cognate experience or a PhD with at least 12 years cognate experience. Applicants must also be a member of a registered professional body.
ii) Web DeveloperApplicants must possess a First Degree; Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualifications in related discipline. Applicants with OND and at least three (3) years cognate experience may be considered.
iii) System Hardware SpecialistApplicants must possess a First Degree; Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualifications in related discipline plus 5 O’ level credits (WASC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB) including English Language and Mathematics.
iv). Computer OperatorsApplicants must possess a professional Diploma in Data Processing or Diploma in Secretarial Studies with professional training in Data Processing with a Typing speed of 50w.p.m. plus 5 O’ level credits (WASC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB) including English Language and Mathematics
a. Works
i) Principal Electrical EngineerApplicant must possess a First Degree with nine (9) years post qualification cognate experience or a Masters Degree with six (6) years post qualification cognate experience.
ii) Senior Estate OfficerApplicant must possess a good First Degree/ HND in Estate Surveying or any of the following qualifications: (1) A pass in the first Examination of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. (2) A pass in the First Examination of the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers. (3) Ordinary National Diploma in Estate Management from a recognized Institution.
iii) Senior Technical Officer - MechanicalApplicants must possess any of the following qualifications: (ii a good HND in relevant discipline with minimum of three years post qualification experience; OR (ii) a good HND with M.Tech. in same discipline; OR (iii) OND plus a minimum of six years post qualification experience.
f. Bursary
i) Senior Internal AuditorApplicants must hold a good Bachelor degree in Accounting or any related field and also be a member of Professional bodies (ICAN, ANAN, ACCA etc) with a minimum of six (6) years working experience.
ii) Internal Auditor & AccountantsApplicants must hold a good Bachelor degree in Accounting or any related field. Membership of professional bodies is an added advantage, with NYSC Discharge certificate.
Salary and Condition of ServiceThe salaries and conditions of service are as applicable to the post appointed for in Nigerian Universities as approved by Sokoto State
