Job Description

  • This role will be responsible for the end to deal processing, settlements, confirmation, and record keeping of all Derivative, commodity and Interbank Money Market transactions.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Ensure prompt and accurate settlement of all Derivatives and Commodity trades
  • Track all outstanding confirmation letters and provide adequate MIS in line with approved procedure
  • Ensure prompt confirmation and settlement of all Corporate term deposit transactions
  • Render timely all regulatory returns required on ALM and derivative business to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist the ALM desk by monitoring and reporting timely, all late and failed payments from counter parties.
  • Prompt settlement of all secured interbank placements/takings via the Central Bank of Nigeria Depo/x (S4) system.
  • Ensure prompt review and investigation of derivative, commodity and Money Market related transactions and items cleared from internal suspense and nostro accounts within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Maintain required standards of customer service quality, efficiency and productivity; and where necessary, analyze, review and develop methods of working to improve efficiency and reduce TAT.
  • Matching incoming confirmation letters for derivatives and commodity trades.
  • Follow up with counterparties for all outstanding confirmation letters related to derivatives and commodity transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws & regulations, and that documented procedures are up-to-date at all times.
  • Ensure that all required analysis, statistics and returns are completed accurately and on a timely basis as it relates to Money Market and Derivative transactions
  • Manage relationships between the FMO and GSSC Chennai FX/MM Settlement team and internal customers to ensure excellent interfaces between sales, trading and operations.
  • Ensure timely settlement of all Interbank Money Market deals.
Qualifications & Skills
  • University degree with a minimum of a second class qualification
  • High degree of responsibility and integrity
  • Good knowledge of Opics and eBBS system and related reports
  • Sound knowledge of Risk control and reporting.
  • Good knowledge of Treasury products and local money market practices.
  • Sound analytical and business process knowledge
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
