Development Aid for Children, Women and Youth Initiative (DEV-AID) is a Non-Governmental Organization, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a Not-for-Profit, Non-Religious, Voluntary Organization founded on the ideals of making a change in the development of Children, Women and Youths, through Capacity development/ Strengthening, Advocacy and Campaigns, Service delivery, Mobilization, Research and Evidence generation. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Communication / Social Media Intern

Core Responsibilities
The intern may contribute to various team or project activities under the direction of their supervisor in the following ways:

  • Work with the Program Team, to create and implement campaigns across programme portfolio.
  • Drive visibility for DEV-AID on all its social media platforms
  • Draft social media posts for monthly social media calendar
  • Assist with project-related administrative tasks, as needed, including but not limited to assisting with organizing and participating in team meetings and client calls (e.g., assisting with meeting preparation, taking meeting minutes, drafting post-meeting reports)
  • Support Program Team with live online events
  • Create engaging blog and social media contents and disseminate key information as requested.
  • Monitor analytics to identify viable ideas,
  • Assist in the general distribution of press releases and media alerts
  • Facilitate stakeholder’s engagements Support Program Team to proactively engage in outreach using relevant technology and innovative tools.
  • Schedule and post approved messages on campaign Instagram and Facebook accounts
  • Draft and send bimonthly social media toolkit
  • Conduct research for and contribute to internal monthly social media newsletter
  • Draft and submit ad hoc posts as requested
  • Brainstorm and research ideas for original social media content, conduct social media marketing research.
  • Ensure brand message is consistent, develop new strategies for increasing engagement
  • Develop content calendars on a weekly and monthly basis for the organization’s products / materials and key dates.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Educational Qualification & Skills

  • Preferably a Serving NYSC Corp member with a Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Computer Science, or related field 1+ year experience in social media management,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills In-depth working knowledge of social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and Google+ Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Creative mindset, Ability to multitask, Ability to work in a team, Prior experience with marketing or social media.
