Job Title: Facilities Manager

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • As a Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the physical environments of Miva Open University and uLesson Education facilities, including headquarters, learning centres, distribution points, and other associated spaces.
  • The ideal candidate should be frugal-minded, resourceful, and capable of optimising operational processes to save costs and execute tasks swiftly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimise the physical condition of all facilities, ensuring they meet safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Optimise space utilisation in all facilities to accommodate current and future needs.
  • Coordinate the layout and design of spaces to enhance functionality and aesthetics.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and crisis management protocols.
  • Conduct regular drills to ensure the readiness of employees and occupants.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of services and materials.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts.
  • Devise and implement strategies to minimise costs without compromising quality and safety.
  • Oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of all facilities.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers for repairs and renovations.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising on quality and safety.
  • Monitor utility usage, negotiate contracts, and implement energy-saving initiatives.
  • Streamline operational processes to improve overall efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure all facilities are set up and prepared for daily operations and events.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a secure environment for employees, students, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with space planning and project management.
  • Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in a multi-location setup.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in budget management and cost control.

Compensation
N600,000 - N750,000 Monthly with other benefits.
