Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

What You Will Do

  • We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our expanding team. Ideally, we would like a candidate with a passion for entrepreneurial businesses and their growth.
  • This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic work environment and develop more advanced skills in Financial Reporting and Analysis in a highly data-driven business.

Your role will be to manage the business finance and accounting functions. You will report directly to the Head of Finance, and your primary objectives will be to:

  • Keep appropriate records of the business’ financial records, including client accounts.
  • Assist with the production and management of monthly and yearly accounts, including the identification of relevant accruals and payments.
  • Provide analysis of costs for review by management
  • Work with all aspects of the business to ensure that the finance runs smoothly across the company.

Job Description

  • Be responsible for accurate recording and classification of costs and expenses.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure books are always correctly managed by paying attention to processes.
  • Assist with qualified compliance regulations, including checking tax forms and assisting with the preparation of year end returns.
  • Prepare regular cash flow forecasting for short term and long-term investments.
  • Prepare and raise sales invoices, quotes, and sales orders.
  • Deal with any queries and build strong working relationships with clients.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to provide various reports including financial statements and journals.
  • Take ownership of PAYE payroll, VAT, Corporation Tax, Credit Control
  • Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns while keeping abreast of developments in VAT regulations and suggesting changes to ensure compliance.

Person Specification

  • Educated to University Degree level.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience working in a similar role.
  • Creativity: Endeavour to find new ways of doing things and learn from past experiences
  • Flexibility: be prepared to offer support to a wide range of departments and different tasks as the needs of the business dictate
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft excel to competent level.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills with the ability to investigate queries thoroughly and accurately.
  • People skills: good judgment, phone, and conversation skills
  • Results driven with good organisation skills and can-do attitude.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team.
  • Strong, effective communication skills (verbal & written) with a confident and articulate manner.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 / month.
