We are recruiting to fill the position below:       Job Title: Pre-Sales Engineer Location: Victoria Island, Lagos Short Summary of the Job

  • The Pre-Sales Engineer will be responsible for designing solutions based on client’s requests and develop BOM in various options to satisfy both the client and our internal billing unit.
  • He or She will also have the responsibility to develop and manage future products for Netcom
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Deliver all standard and non-standard bill of materials (BOM’s), proposals, project network architecture (PNA’s)
  • Ensure that all BOM’s and proposals are technically and financially sound to meet both client’s and Netcom’s objectives and are within the timelines set by all stakeholders
  • Attend client product presentation, requirements gathering and other matters as requested by both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure that the PLC documentation of all current products are updated
  • Serve as level 3 support for any technical issue on delivered products
  • Participate in the product steering committee in identifying products that Netcom will pursue on an agreed timeframe
  • Execute PLC phases for selected products up to launching (business investigation, design and planning, testing and roll-out).
Education and/or Professional Qualifications
  • BSc degree required in Computer Science or Engineering
  • CCNP, CCIE or related Network engineering certifications
  • ISO 9001:2000 and TL 9000 training and/or experience
  • 5 to 8 years working experience is required for this role.
Essential Skills/Knowledge:
  • Proven senior IT and telecommunications hands-on experience.
  • Proven track record of driving and defining complex projects
  • Ability to manage all stakeholders on all running and planned projects
  • Exceptional written and communication skills are essential
  • Experience of managing multiple IT and telecommunications disciplines i.e. software development, technical support, systems and Network architecture, etc.
  • Advanced level understanding in network, transmission and server systems fields
  • In-depth experience of negotiating with and managing third parties
  • Working knowledge of Project Management methodologies
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Office and non-windows operating system

  • The Project implementation engineer will be grounded in both systems administration and network engineering.
  • You will be in charge of the full project life cycle from the implementation stage to handing over, you must be able to demonstrate hands-on experience in delivering various projects in the IT sector.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.
  • Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects.
  • Schedule and monitor project activity to achieve an “on-time” result including follow-up with external suppliers to ensure timely response to action items.
  • Monitor project cost activity to achieve an “in budget” result.
  • Ensure effective engineering and Client communications.

  • Responsible for maintaining integrity, operational suitability and relationships of all assigned sites.
  • As an extension of the IT manager, acting as a liaison, bridging/facilitating communication and understanding between the client and Netcom Service Assurance & Delivery team. Understanding the clients business and therefore IT needs and coordinating the process of delivery of IT solutions to the client.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the activities of  onsite IT Staff at the client’s site, work scheduling, project monitoring, reporting etc
  • Liaise with the IT staff at Netcom’s HQ to translate clients needs as well as leverage on Netcom back office support on resolving issues.
  • Liaise with the Management at client’s site as  technical lead and relationship manager IT communications between ITO client & Netcom
  • Liaise with the account manager to manage and or coordinate commercial Issues.
  • Manage the Open Ticket Queue for outstanding issues and liaise with Netcom Support to track open items.
  • Provide IT support when necessary for users at client’s site.
  • Provide reports to clients for tracking of consumables, etc.
  • Provide weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports as prescribed GM Operations
  • Escalate to third-party vendors for IT support if required, i.e. Polycom, Printing, etc.
  • Interact with the Site’s staff, in particular Head’s of Department, to establish a working relationship and ensure the problem resolution.
  • Work with the Netcom IT team to further advance the IT environment at the client’s site.
  • Resolve issues that may occur outside of office hours, e.g  MD & CEO support
  • Adhere to Netcom procedures and enforce such procedures at the client’s site.
  • Ensure complete compliance with Netcom internal policy and TL9000 quality standards
  • Provide insight & suggestions of the environment at the client’s site.
Essential Skills/Knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server Administration, IT/Desktop troubleshooting, Financial Application – like Navision, ERP, CRM, etc.
  • Considerable knowledge of IP Network, LAN management and Troubleshooting, Microwave/Radio Management, VOIP on Avaya, Cisco or Lifesize platform
  • Emails with Exchange Server – both local and hosted via hosted exchange.
  • Cloud computing  and hosting of IT services – Domain, Web Services, emails, Storage, off-site backup and recovery

  • To support and maintain all IT architecture both internal and in client’s location.
  • This position is also responsible for administering up to 100 desktops as well as all company servers, printers, phones, and other peripherals.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Configures, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and related services
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Provide network-related user issues as escalated
  • Assist in network project design and implementations
  • Maintain and support the company’s LAN/WAN environment
  • Daily maintenance and problem resolution
  • Maintain necessary documentation on both network issues and projects assigned
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Apple servers (Open Directory) for a middle-sized environment (less than 200 computers)
  • Set-up of computers for staffs
  • Troubleshoot application and hardware issues on both user and server levels

  • Advanced knowledge in SNMP and other network management protocols/systems
  • Advanced knowledge in QoS principles and use of different QoS appliances
  • Able to identify network issues, propose and implement actions to resolve the problem
  • Experienced and knowledgeable on different wireless technologies (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) design, implementation, optimization and troubleshooting
  • Must be highly resourceful
  • Able to complete tasks with minimal supervision

  • Certifications (CCNP/CCDA/CCIP) is a plus
