We are recruiting to fill the positions below:   Job Title: Centre Manager Location: Sokoto
Summary PJ in collaboration with the UN Women under the Spotlight Initiative is establishing a One Stop Centre for survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence and other forms of violations in Sokoto State. The One Stop Centre will provide free timely medical and counseling support services to survivors. Specific Responsibilities Managerial role:
  • Provide overall line management of the Center staff. This includes: performance management and reviews; identifying capacity building needs (and helping to address where possible); ensuring staff have sufficient resources and information; ensuring regular communication and information sharing; promoting a positive, team-building, and professional working atmosphere.
Qualifications
  • University Degree, preferably in Health, Social Work, Social Services, Community Development, or related fields.
Experience:
  • At least 4 years experience in managing an office or service delivery agency. This includes experience in managing the financial, logistical and administrative aspects.
  • At least 1 year of experience in managing a multi-disciplinary staff team, inclusive of both technical and administrative personnel. Ability to maintain a positive team atmosphere and supportive environment for staff to provide quality services to clients in frequently stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of gender-based violence, and the principles of providing quality service delivery for GBV survivors.
 
 
Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Location: Sokoto

Qualifications
  • Degree / Higher Diploma in Social Sciences or related field.
Experience:
  • At least 2-3 years experience working in a administrative capacity preferably in a non governmental organization.
  • Knowledge of office administration and book keeping procedures
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team
 
 
Job Title: Midwife
Location: Sokoto
Specific Responsibilities Technical:
  • Ensuring Quality of Services to Survivors
  • Provide quality health care, assessments, support, information, and follow up services at all times to all survivors that visit the Center.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Nursing or similar qualification in Nursing
Experience:
  • At least 3 years experience in the direct provision of examinations, treatment, and care services to women and children including survivors of sexual assault domestic violence, and other forms of gender-based violence.
  • Substantial knowledge and/or practical experience in health and medical issues pertaining to gender based violence response, and in the provision of appropriate care for survivors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of providing quality service delivery for survivors of gender-based violence in various settings and circumstances.
  • Experience engaging constructively with diverse groups of stakeholders at all levels in a participatory, inclusive manner to address issues that may be viewed as sensitive or controversial with respect to traditional socio-cultural beliefs and practices.
 
  Job Title: Counsellor
Location: Sokoto
Specific Responsibilities
  • Technical: Ensuring Quality of Services to Survivors
Qualifications
  • Degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Communications or related field
Experience:
  • Experience engaging constructively with diverse groups of stakeholders at all levels in a participatory, inclusive manner to address issues that may be viewed as sensitive or controversial with respect to traditional socio-cultural beliefs and practices.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience working with women and children
  • Experience working with vulnerable ones especially abused women and children.
  • Excellent presentation skills, communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong planning and organizational skills;
