Flagger Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

The following common skills and qualifications are required of a Flagger:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience working as a Flagger.
  • The ability to work in harsh weather conditions.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional observation skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of traffic regulations.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
